4 wires, what are they?
I am actually surprised by this color order. If I was to bet I would have said Red-left, Copper-Right and Greens-return. Reason for the Greens - return is that one you have 2 of the same color and that just makes sense, 2 green is often choosen for ground. Reason for Red == left is well...- m1abrams

Logitech's Squeezebox Touch - opinions sought on quality
Quote: We got to the point of companies assuming an iPhone/iPod Touch when Apple started making those things so cheap. If you had to choose between buying an iPod Touch for $199 to control your radio, or buy a dedicated controller that has a smaller LCD for $299 which do you think most...- m1abrams

Logitech's Squeezebox Touch - opinions sought on quality
Quote: Actually that device has existed for several years. I have had the Squeezebox Radio branded one for awhile, it is great on the bedside. However that UE rebranded version has a crippled firmware that makes it not work with the Squeezebox systems :(. Also WHY would you want...- m1abrams

Worried to test M3
Quote: Well lets do the math. If your MMM is a standard build with a 50K pot then your input impedance is ~47ohms. You want the cap to filter out frequencies below say 10Hz. So solve for C freq = 1/(2*pie*R*C)- m1abrams

My first build log... AMB Mini³ w/ lots of pictures!
Quote: Nice build, however FYI that pink plastic and foam is actually conductive so I would not use it to lay powered devices on it.- m1abrams

Different way to display LED's
Nice work on the LEDs. That is what I did with the LEDs on my B22 case. Course I had Front Panel Express do the dirty work, I had a 1mm hole drilled on the front with a 3mm hole drilled on the backside to mount a 3mm blue led. It gives that pinpoint look and the hole is almost invisible with...- m1abrams

Why are your resistors so high off the board? Are you doubling them up as handles?- m1abrams

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
Get a better source. What you are hearing is the noise floor of your sound card. As you demonstrated using different sources produced lower noise. So get a different source, USB dac might work well for you.- m1abrams

Adding bass boost to Mini3
This is probably a very bad idea for the mini3. The opamps used are extremely picky and any extra inductance in the feedback will most likely make them unstable. Adding a bass boost by creating a bypass circuit in the feedback would most likely make the amp unstable.- m1abrams

Best amp to listen to vinyl records using AKG 701 headphone?
Do you have a phono preamplifier? If not you really need one before piping that table to any old amp.- m1abrams

WOW!!! I gave J River a try...

The Beta22/Sigma22 amp has arrived Review added!
Confused, why would you have to unplug the headphones to turn off the amp? NOTE: Do NOT unplug the headphones while the amp is ON, this is a good way to blow the output mosfets. Quote:- m1abrams
