    Oracle MkII from Thieaudio

I'm not familiar with those headphones you mentioned.

Post the last thing you bought. Oh fun!

Music: King Crimson THRAK CD, since I discovered the last two tracks on my copy could not be verified and had some issues. Gear: Singxer SU-6 and Quicksilver Headphone Amp.

    Singxer SU-6

I just got my SU-6. Downloaded drivers, and my PC recognized it. Using JRiver Media Center > USB > SU-6 >BNC > Gungnir MB > Quicksilver Headphone Amp > K601. So far, so good.

Quicksilver Audio Headphone Amplifier any opinions?

I'm listening to the 1987 pressing of "Abbey Road" - Denon DCD-1600NE > Gungnir MB > Quicksilver > DT-880 [OG]. Bass extension, macrodynamics, microdynamics... it is all there. Noise floor is very low - especially after I went direct from my DAC to the amp. I bought a couple sets of tubes...

Headphone amps under $650 vs high end headphone amps?

I was tossing out thoughts on higher end amps vs. less costly products. Regarding Vali 2, a more apt comparison would be to my Quicksilver, but that will be another mismatch, and not entirely apples to apples, as Vali 2 is a hybrid, and QSHA is SET (I believe). I think the entry Schiit...

Headphone amps under $650 vs high end headphone amps?

I have a Auralic Taurus MkII, along with a Vali 2 and Magni 3 (I have a Quicksilver HA, but not long enough to opine with any degree of authority), and I notice differences. The Vali 2 and Magni 3 are really nice entry-level amps. Where they obviously fall behind the Taurus is clarity...

Quicksilver Audio Headphone Amplifier any opinions?

The QSHA arrived and is safely set up on my second rack. Oddly, it shares a shelf with a Parks Puffin - strange bedfellows, indeed. I’m enjoying the music and am not doing any critical listening or analysis. Importantly, I don’t find anything wrong with how it sounds or functions (thank...

    Singxer SU-6

I’m a Luddite, so I still use USB to my DAC. I bought a cheap Douk Audio USB to SPDIF converter and liked it enough to step up to the SU-6. I liked all the outputs from the SU-6, I read the reviews, and I thought it would be a final addition to my digital chain. I’ll be going USB > SU-6 >...

Quicksilver Audio Headphone Amplifier any opinions?

Ordered one of these a few days ago as a present to myself. Arrives before Christmas. I spent time clearing out non-essential gear to make room. This is my first “real” tube amp (Vali 2 being a hybrid), so I’m looking forward to the experience. Chain will be Gungnir MB > Khozmo PreAmp >...

Douk Audio U2 Pro DDC - Poorman DDC for an affordable & clean digital signal

Thanks for the tips! DAC is fine - Gungnir MB, but USB is not the best part of the DAC.

Douk Audio U2 Pro DDC - Poorman DDC for an affordable & clean digital signal

I ordered a Douk Audio U2 PRO from Amazon and it arrived yesterday. Set up was easy. I've got it set up as follows: PC > USB > U2 Pro > Coax > DAC > Pre-Amp > Amp > Speakers. I haven't spent enough time with it to determine if it is better than the USB implementation on my Gungnir MB (Gen 5...
