I love the DT 880 250 Ohm but he would need something to drive them. Video game console is not going to do them justice. Also I found them to be about equal bass to the AD700. He wants more.

Exactly. We are on the same page. It seemed like he enjoyed the AD700 but wanted an upgrade. Hence my suggesting the HD598.

Another choice is the v-mode m-80. Although the isolation is not as good as the HD-25 they sound pretty good for a portable.

The M50s do not have a detacheable cable. Not sure you will find a decent detachable cable phone under 200. Spend a little more and look at Mad Dogs by Mr. Speaker. If not detacheable then check out the sennheiser HD-25's. You can get them for under 200 now.

Then I would go with the DT 990. Another option would be the sennheiser HD598. They are good all around for what you want.

Hope I am not to late to give my opinion. I do not think you would be happy with the DT 770 for what you want. I read one other post about the sennheiser HD598. They are great for what you need. Check them out.

Sorry I just saw you wanted all around. If portable and travel are in this then those are poor choices because every one else will hear what you hear. Might make people angry :-)

From what you are needing I would say you have made some good choices. Top of the list I would do the DT 990 because of the video games. You will get more clarity in the lows and sound effects in the video games with the DT 990.

I tried both and preferred the 1350.  After learning the sweet spot I went back to find the sweet spot on the T50p and still preferred the DT1350.
