Focal For Bentley Radiance Headphones
An "open-box" pair arrived today that is pretty obviously brand-new. There is a very significant imbalance in the bass region between 60hz and 170hz. It's way off to the right in that area, sounding mono below and above. I swapped the L & R pads between each other to make sure it's not a pad...- louderup

Audeze LCD-X
I'm sorry but I got them at the same time as the LCD-X, since I always need a closed-back for certain situations, and I decided on these because A) I know the Beyer sound and B) they have a Sonarworks profile unlike the Elegias I've been using for a while. But I've barely listened to the 1770s...- louderup

Audeze LCD-X
I've had these for a week now, wearing them all day listening to music but mostly doing mixing/writing work. They're so God damn clean. I can hear absolutely everything in the spectrum, and it feels great having the confidence that I'm getting an accurate response. Weight was scary at first but...- louderup

New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation
Thanks for the quick response. I actually own the 770 Pros, do you know if those are the same size pads as the 1770? From eye-balling it, it looks like the 770 pads would be too big for the T5P cup, but I'll trust you if you say they fit. Edit: the only reason I'm hesitant to try without...- louderup

New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation
I just got these today, since the price has come down recently. So far I'm satisfied with the overall sound. About the amount of lows and highs I expected from reading some reviews + knowing what to expect with the "Beyer house sound." Better resolution and spaciousness than Beyer's traditional...- louderup

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
Hmm... I'm in the U.S., sent them a picture of the deformed right earpad and mentioned the channel imbalance. They just gave me an address to mail them to, to have the pads replaced. They didn't offer to cover postage nor did they acknowledge my concern about the channel imbalance. They did...- louderup

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
The right earpad on my new pair of AFCs has become considerably deformed in just 4 days of use. It did have a strange sort of fold on the side to begin with though. Waiting to hear what my options are for support. Also, the vocals, kick, bass, and snare, are all off to the left on every track I...- louderup

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
Hi @mrspeakers, firstly I'd like to applaud you for your transparency and your no-b.s. approach to marketing, price-points, product-cannibalization, and end-user customization. I received your Aeon Flow Closed today from a brick & mortar+online seller from Virginia on a good open-box deal. I'm...- louderup

Neumann NDH 20
JFC get over yourself. Your advice has nowhere near the value you think it does. You don't even read. Everything I've talked about with regards to the NDH 20s has been in the context of mixing music. It's what I do for a living and what I've done for 15 years. Nearly every person who doesn't...- louderup

Timbral accuracy is bad for orchestral instruments, that's where I focused the most of my attention. Maybe you or others could find it pleasing, but if you want accuracy, you will not find it. The somewhat severe mid scoop kills any chance of that. Details were hard for me. I couldn't pick up...- louderup

I've spent a good amount of time with these now. I wouldn't recommend these for reference use. Not at all, especially at this price. They sound like they have a pop preset EQ applied to them. That's what the frequency emphasis sounds like. They just don't sound natural. This is impacted further...- louderup

Is the 'half gain' part of the equalizer setting? If so it could just equal 0 boost but 0 reduction. Often that's how it works... for instance the bottom gain amount could be -6db, half would be 0, and the highest would be +6db. If you're at +0 gain but the cinema EQ is boosting the low end, it...- louderup

Neumann NDH 20
Been listening for the past 6 hours (with breaks) since receiving these. Comfort sorta sucks. Gotta start with that. Bad for big heads and/or big ears. Clamp is tight and the pads are just a really poor shape/material for applying a balanced amount of pressure around your ear. The other...- louderup
