Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
Just ordered a WA6SE. I plan on using the stock tubes for awhile. It will be my first tube amp. I currently use a Headroom Cosmic from around 2001 with HD650s. Source is either a Marantz 67SE cd player or a Sonos playing primarily lossless files. In the future I may look into a dac for the...- Lilac_Wine

Burson HA-160D
I am wondering the same thing. I can read the cached version of threads realting to the 160 on Google, but many of them give an error message on this site. I am trying to decide between a 160D and a WA6SE.- Lilac_Wine

Burson 160d vs WooAudio WA6-SE
I am considering upgrading my system. I currently listen to mainly HD650s through a Headroom Cosmic amp from around 2002. Lately, the source is a Sonos (ALAC) without a separate DAC. I listen to indie, rock and jazz I am debating between the 160d and WA6SE. The 160d would upgrade my amp and...- Lilac_Wine

Slate on high end portable audio
Slate has an interesting article on getting good sound quality out of portable MP3 players. Nothing we don't already know, but still fun to read. http://slate.msn.com/id/2113059/- Lilac_Wine

Rega P3 or Musichall MMF-5
I have not heard the NAD. If it is a rebadged Rega and you can get it for a great price, I would go for it. The Rega is a nice table and it really makes no difference who’s name is on it. I use a ClearAudio Aurum Beta. List appears to be around $400, but I am sure you can find it cheaper. I...- Lilac_Wine

Rega P3 or Musichall MMF-5
They are both good tables and very similar. I would get which ever one you can get a better deal on. I do not think you will hear much of a difference between them. Spend the extra money on the phono stage and the cartridge. What is your price range for the phono stage and the cartridge? It...- Lilac_Wine

Expensive Aftermarket Power Cables - Why?
Quote: Silver, copper, gold, various alloys…they each can flavor the sound in a different way. In what way? How does a silver power cord sound as compared to a copper power cord? I have not heard silver power cords, so I am not saying you are wrong. I am simply asking for a... -
Expensive Aftermarket Power Cables - Why?
I just switched power cords on my audio equipment. All of the cords were cheap and came with various electronics. I could hear no difference any of them. I know the response will be, “You have to try expensive PCs to hear a difference” but with speaker cables you can hear a difference among... -

Soldering Iron / Tips
I have a degree in electrical engineering, but only a little experience with soldering. I am planning on building a Cmoy for fun and need some advice on soldering irons and tips on soldering. I would like to eventually build higher end amps, but figure I should practice a bit first. I was...- Lilac_Wine

What happens to my purchased iTunes songs if I change my hard drive?
Move the songs to the new hard drive. If they get deleted and are not backed up they are lost. If you are reinstalling the OS on the new drive, I would first deactivate that computer from your iTunes account. Once everything is moved and reinstalled re-activate the account on the new system...- Lilac_Wine

Vinyl or CD?
Music Hall also has nice tables. Here is a review that favors the MMF-5 to the Planar 2: http://www.soundstage.com/vinyl/vinyl200009.htm You would probably be happy with either a Music Hall or a Rega. I don't think either would be a bad choice at all.- Lilac_Wine
