HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I'd probably hear a difference with a higher amp. I heard the little dot mkvi with it both se and balanced. I admit dumb choice to pair with the emo in hindsight.

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

My bad, you said in the other thread you were budgeting for $800 for a dac? Audio GD offer plenty of good options below that value. If you really wanted to save money there are less expensive options like the Dacmagic, Bifrost etc. You seem to already have researched I'm sure you'll figure it...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

You wouldn't ever be disappointed with that combo   The V6 will be up for sale by the next day   Consider the Audio GD Reference 5.32, connect it up by RCA and you're good to go. Great dac, great for pc usage that I presume you'll be goin for. Can't go wrong with the doggies, great from...

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones

Loving the stand, very neat. Would look very snazzy along compared with my plastic brainwavz stands   Debating whether or not to hold off on my HD800's and get the alpha dog. I desperately need a closed phone for work listening and the TH600 not going to be it (leaks a bit too much).  ...

Subbed, very interested to see if they move to take on the other top/flagship level cans or not. The serial number has me hoping.

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

By a "tubey sound" they are referring to a warmth/ bump in the mid range which has been stereotyped to come from tube amplifiers. Of course as it has been explained above not all tube amps or solid state amps sound the same. Different tubes produce different results. Best to take each amp on...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I cannot answer that one never heard the emo. Its a speaker amp though you should know and its solid state. It is supposed to be very very good with orthos mind you the lyr is great with them as well. I'd answer the second question as well but I'm posting this on the train. off to the football...

Why do people like Grados so much?

I've got a love and hate relationship with Grados.   I loved the SR60 a lot when I first was starting out, and could not get enough of listening to them for rock, metal and the like. But as I developed a interest in a lot of other genres as I had more free time on my hands graduating from High...

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread

I have a few questions for you if you have the time.   How does the Fischer FA-011LE fare compared to the T1 in your opinion? What are the most noticeable differences? I know the T1's are many times more in cost. Just some preliminary questions before I hear em.   I'm listening to the...

    Budget Orthodynamic Headphones?

If you don't plan on getting the a-100 then don't consider this one. The o2 and little dot are no where near powerful enough. It needs many many watts of power. To connect you need the hifiman adapt or similar and a xlr cable for the he headphone. A bit fiddly but incredible value to performance.

    Budget Orthodynamic Headphones?

Another one to consider with the HE-400 and Mad Dog 3.2   HE-4 with the Emotiva mini-X A-100.   I've heard the HE-4 and its a incredible value at the $350 odd dollars that is comes for. The Mini X has been recommended quite a bit to me for driving them at a budget cost.

Imagine you could choose only one!

I'd be saving the Beyerdynamic T1, Burson Soloist, the Audio GD Ref 5.32 and my laptop which has all my music on it.   Would feel horrid (I wouldn't recover ) losing the other cans and the WA7 I have. I'm always afraid of them getting stolen one day

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I'm very happy with the pairing of WA7 and LCD2. Organic, warm and inviting, very much like that pairing for Jazz and Blues. Smooth, relaxing and not fatiguing sound. Definitely not overly lush or smeared,  its very clear  and nicely detailed. Nice bass, but I feel the Soloist extends a bit...

    Grado Fan Club!

Strange I put them in my closet for 6 nights worth of 10 hours each. I didn't hear to much difference. Maybe my NFB 5.32 just matched poorly with them. I wonder if there could have been something wrong with my source at the time.
