[FiiO BTR7] Portable Bluetooth Amplifier, Color IPS display,High-performance DAC ES9219C*2,THX AAA-28*2 amps,3.5+4.4mm outputs,One-click “dongle” mode

Since FIIO did not include a clip or other way to carry the BTR7 I thought I would share this simple DIY fix. You can take a common household Fork and push your favorite chain or cord through the back of the included leather case and wear the BTR7 around your neck. Hope this Helps :) Lasher

    Sony WH-1000XM3 Earpad Question?

I currently own the XM2 and have read that the XM3 has a larger opening in the pads for your ears than the XM2. As that has been the only real complaint I’ve had with the headphones, My question is. Are the pads interchangeable from the new model to the older? Visually, Pics/Videos they look as...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

You hit the nail on the head my friend. You just stop "Assessing" and looking for some fault in the Cans and just enjoy the Music. That is worth a mint. It really is meant to be about the music not the gear, that is what being an "Audiophile" is really all about, and this is what they do in...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Received my HD6XX today! Listening to them as I type this. Let me say first off that I own several Planar Magnetic Headphones. I have a real love of the Planar sound and they tend to get more play time than my Dynamic Driver models. That being said, I do completely understand the long love...

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions

Guys I've been thinking about posting some questions and observations here for a while now. Let me first say that I firmly believe: Your Money, Your Cans, do whatever makes you happy. That being said, I just can't understand how I've seen post here from people who while waiting for their...

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions

Clearly you didn’t understand my post. I was in no way suggesting or declaring anything. I was asking if anyone had purchased the M565C instead of the M1060C. I ask this because I believe the M1060C has garnered all the attention and that the M565C has been, for the most part overlooked in favor...

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions

I was just curious. Did everyone just go for the M1060C or did someone give the M565C a shot? I'm beginning to think Monoprice should have released the smaller can first, got them out there and then in a few months released the M1060C. It seems to have killed the little guys sales. It may turn...

Comment by 'LasherV' in item 'Monolith M565C Closed Back Planar Headphones'

I have to ask. With most of us buying the M1060C myself included has anyone gave these a try? Did Monoprice make a mistake by releasing these at the same time as their big brother? It would be a shame if these turn out to be the hidden gem that no one buys. Lasher

    Emotiva A-100

I set the Darkvoice to around 11 o’clock and use the Emotiva volume. It’s a better volume pot IMHO. It’s pretty easy to find a happy medium adjusting between 10-11 o’clock on the Darkvoice depending on what Tubes/Source you are using. Let me know how it works out with the HA-1. I love the setup...

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions

Again this goes to me doing things a little different. My Tube amp, the Darkvoice 336se has pre-amp outputs which I use as a front end for my Emotiva BasX A-100 whenever I drive Planars. I find it keeps the Tube soundstage and warm fuzziness that I just can't live without but provides all the...

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions

I just received mine today and have to say I'm in the "Polar Opposite" category. These things sound Amazing. I love my original M1060 and also my m560. I also really enjoy my 400i. All of them sound different and I pick them up for different music that I feel fits their strengths. This new...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

As I said before I own the 400i. However I also own the M1060 from Monoprice. You can get it refurbished for around $250USD and IMHO it will give you a far better representation of what "Planar Bass" really is and why people love it. More so than the 400i and it is also a little bit easier to...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

I have had the 400i for a while now and I will say this. They are not kidding about the 150hr burn in period. The Bass response gets much deeper, the Highs smooth out, and the Mids get more width and depth to them the more you use them. They also respond very well to EQ. A great bargain for what...

    Best songs to test/showcase headphones?

Focal Labs has several demo disk that are very well recorded with a wide mix of music. I demo most of my gear with them. As far as the "Poorly Recorded" music goes. That is one issue that I have struggled with for years. It seems the better your gear gets the worse the music you grew up on and...
