    If you really want isolation in ear monitors are much better than headphones.    If you want to stick with headphones, then you are looking for portable closed back (not open back like the HD 598) headphones. The Shure SRH 840 will be more up your alley.

    This is incorrect, both Linux and Windows can be configured to send bit-perfect data to your computer's DAC.
