Tube Change/Biasing a Stax 006t II
New tubes tend to wander like that, no worries. When tubes settle in then ratings tend to stabilize, so a round of fine-tuning could be in order. These units are clearly not meant for tube rolling.. The trimmers are really that bad.- Kurios

The Entry Level Stax Thread
Thanks for the clarification. I had a quick fitting with the JJs and some short CBS bottles. The JJs would certainly need case modification but the short types do fit (barely) with 90° angled adaptors.- Kurios

The Entry Level Stax Thread
I bought a pair of JJ 6sn7 to substitute the 6CG7 tubes in a srm-500t amp. Looking at the specs I am not sure which type they actually are :/ https://www.jj-electronic.com/en/6sn7 Could I replace the 6CG7's with these?- Kurios

That helped. I finally got the voltages under 1 volt now. And yeah, I also get different readings between warmed up and cold start.- Kurios

REVIEW: Matrix Cube DAC
Update: Finally settled with OPA627AU opamps in both the DAC and AMP stages. Compared to the OPA2227PA in the DAC stage the sound is more relaxed, and the overall listening experience has improved. Two things stand out: Better instrument placement and smoother highs. The bass with the OPA2227PA...- Kurios

REVIEW: Matrix Cube DAC
Quote: Yes, that's why I looked for a local seller also. There is valuable information in this thread. I would say make a selection from opamps to try out - buy a few at once better then pay shipping again if an opamp does not work out. Opamp swapping makes a difference. I am...- Kurios

REVIEW: Matrix Cube DAC
Opamp rolling rocks . Using OPA2227PA instead of standard OPA2134PA. Begone harshness & welcome balanced analoge sound.- Kurios
