The Dynamat mod helps a lot with cleaning the bass up and giving it more punch. I did that and the felt mod on my RX700s and they sound pretty good.

Keep an eye on Amazon if you're interested in the DT880s. I think the price fluctuates quite a bit. What's your source? Will the 250ohm model work or do you need 32ohm?
