THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers)
CoCo from Quadron. I discovered her a few days ago when I got to hear her at a concert. Her voice is phenomenal and she just puts so much emotion into her songs. Definitely check her out: -
Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Quote: Thanks. I really love it, which is why I can't quite yet justify upgrading to my dream headphones, the LCD2. Maybe one day when I am rolling around in extra cash... :) Quote: I don't have much experience with other DACs in the V-DAC's price range or higher, so I am...- kingtz

Do I need the HD 600 or HD 650 for jazz, ambient and singer/songwriter stuff?
Quote: I completely agree with everything you said, except the portion in bold. I primarily (90% of the time) listen to female vocals of all genres (classics, jazz, singer/songwriter, country, folk) and the HD650s sound absolutely amazing. The HD650s' inherent coloration, coupled with a...- kingtz

After M50, what next?
Quote: I really find it interesting that you find the M50s to have weak bass. They are well known around there to be rather quite bassy, I agree from my personal experience with them. Thus, the fact that you find them not bassy leaves us to possibilities: 1) You're a basshead (which...- kingtz

Headphones - WORN!!! - new thread - no nudity
I can see the pictures perfectly too. If anyone sees ads or spam, hey it's 2011, try using adblock. I'm using Chrome on Ubuntu, fyi. My only complaint to Ardilla is that there seems be a recent lack of pictures containing females of the species. We need more girls wearing headphones!- kingtz

Headphones dictating your tastes?
Fortunately, it just so happens that my favorite headphone's sound signature is highly suitable for the type of music that I listen to. But yeah, should I ever venture into other genres, I can see myself being a little restricted. But I actually prefer the idea that certain headphones...- kingtz

If you had $300 to spend on headphones...
You should also look into the various Grado models. Those seem to be popular around here for those that like your kind of music.- kingtz

I am dissapointed with my ATH-M50's
Quote: 1. Yes. While I'm still on the fence about the true effects of what is considered "burn in", I do think that giving yourself the 100hrs or so to let yourself get used to the sound will help greatly. When I first got my M50, they pretty much sounded like garbage to me right out of...- kingtz

What was your Lo Fi Moment!
My JVC Marshmallows. I used them at the gym for a couple of years...this was some time before I got into high quality headphones. By the time I started using better headphones, I kind of stopped listening to music at the gym also because I got a workout buddy and we'd chat. Then recently...- kingtz
