Marantz - HD-Amp1 (2016 Brand New DXD, DSD256 USB DAC)
I just purchased this amp a few days ago as a bundle with Bowers and Wilkins 606 speakers on sale (because they have recently released B&W 606 Anniversary Edition) for $1,500. I think this amp has more power than what's advertised because it can easily drive the 606 to deafening levels without...- karzai

Woo Audio: NEW! WA7tp (tube PSU) Early-bird offer
I got email from Mike before. He said maximum should be 300mA for 230V. I can't find a fuse lower than 500mA so my enjoyment of my rig is limited to about 1 hour max.- karzai

Woo Audio: NEW! WA7tp (tube PSU) Early-bird offer
That is a relief. I thought WA7tp just ran unusually hot, which caused the fuse to blow. We appreciate the gesture to replace or reimburse the fuse but it's really not that big of a deal. It costs something like 50 cents a piece. Learning the fact that it was the fuse that turned out to be...- karzai

Woo Audio WA7TP (tube power supply) Impressions Thread
Long one. I got my TP in the middle of May, about 2 weeks before the short cord came out. I'm sorry that you still did not receive yours. I placed and paid my order on April 2 and the unit got delivered on May 22. Maybe they are doing more quality checks and tweaks based on the early...- karzai

Woo Audio WA7TP (tube power supply) Impressions Thread
Are the mains voltage in Australia happen to be 220V? If it is, I would assume WA7tp does not work quite as efficiently as if it were under 110V. I used mine for about 30 hours and and no single listening session exceeded two hours because it got alarmingly hot. Next day the fuse blew up. I...- karzai

New HD 800 very different than the old HD 800
Please don't say that. People have warned about how treacherous this path could easily become and I still have years of mortgage to pay. Haha.- karzai

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
Yeah, I also noticed that although I crank the volume a little bit, I don't seem to feel that it's loud enough. And when I remove it and put it some distance away, I could hear that the music playing through the phone is quite loud. This actually baffles me.- karzai

I like the sound of HD800 but do you guys also experience that after about 30 minutes of listening, your ears begin to hurt from the sound? Like your ears are being pierced? Don't get me wrong, the earpads are extremely comfortable but the discomfort seems to come from the sound itself.- karzai

Would you advise to using the tubes as sparingly as possible in order to prolong their shelf life? Which tubes busted out first, the tp's or the amp's?- karzai

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
Yes, you are right. I may have overstated everything. When I was reading around while trying to decide which headphone to buy, I came across several reviewers swearing they can hear people singing in front of them and they can hear distinct instruments in a breathtaking array of...- karzai

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
Yes, exactly. Thanks for pointing that one out early on. But isn't that the holy grail of headphones since they already have fantastic sound? Didn't engineers at Sennheiser tilt the earcups of HD800 so that they sound like speakers in front of you?- karzai

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
I just got my HD800 today. Serial number is 3077X. Forgive me if anybody finds my first impressions to be a little bit harsh but they are my first impressions. First everybody needs to understand that I have a full decent stereo / surround sound speaker system with a very powerful...- karzai

Yes , it is there. In the back of WA7tp, just below the socket, there is a small compartment that houses both the spare and the active fuse. You're so lucky you got a good unit.- karzai

New HD 800 very different than the old HD 800
I just got mine today and the serial number is 3077X. At the time of this writing, I have only been playing my 5th song and forgive me but I am not particularly blown away by the sound. Is it normal? I feel like I blew away several hundred dollars for a marginal improvement in sound over...- karzai
