If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

any cable extender that has a small enough jack. my favorite is the small shure cable that came with the se530. Its only 9in long and has perfect jack for recessed inputs.   ...

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

For those who are deciding between the S and PT version. P to S adaptor on the PT model has a smaller mini-jack like those found on the hf and mc series. This makes it useable for devices with recessed inputs. Something to think about if you will be using the er4 with a smartphone.

    Shure SE535 replacement cable

you guys should just re-terminate the cord yourself. It's a pretty simple thing to do with a little bit of soldering  and im sure you could find guides and videos online to show you how. Your only cost is the price of the phone jack that you add to the cable and you can make the cable any length...

    excess cable solutions for IEM

you could use a cable management system like the smartwrap cord winder but i would just re-terminate the cord to the length you want it. I did that with some shure's to be able to use them with the accessories from their last generation of earphones. you could also pick any type of headphone...

    Shure or Westone ?

looks like you made your choice, but here's my 2 cents anyways. :) Both are really good iems. I would say the shure's have a better midrange but the westone have a better balanced sound through the whole spectrum: lows, mids, highs.  Both are equal on ease of use b/c they are both meant to...

iCustoms - The Worst Idea Ever?

Darknessproz: I'm not disagreeing with you. I should have explained myself more cleary but I'm only on my phone so pardon the brevity. I doubt any of the adaptors can reach the level of even a good budget iem. I was just saving it might be better to get cheaper comply version (which I originally...

iCustoms - The Worst Idea Ever?

No doubt about it but some people prefer earbuds to iems, and im just making sure someone makes a $10 mistake instead of a $150 one

iCustoms - The Worst Idea Ever?

http://www.complyfoam.com/products/index.php?strProductName=Whoomp!-Earbud-Enhancers/ Comply has these foam adaptors that are likely much cheaper and mostly do the same thing. Might be worth it to try them out to see if they make any improvement before committing to the westones/acs molds. I...

Any recommendations for a very durable IEM?

Quote:   Since you like the u700s, i would say the westone 3's because they also share a v-shaped sound signature, but they also cost more than twice as much as your ue700s. hard to give a better recommendation without knowing your budget or what type of sound you're looking for  ...

    BOSE's Commitment

http://www.boston.com/business/technology/articles/2010/12/26/bose_quietly_makes_its_mark/?page=1   This article claims that they have a higher retail price to cost ratio than most electronic companies aim for and that they don't believe in reduce the cost of their products as their own...

Any recommendations for a very durable IEM?

you probably should look for phones with right angled plugs if you keep your player in your pocket and have issues with the ue700s plug. The new shure line and westones have right angled plugs.

    Sennheiser ie6's or Shure se210??

if those are your only two choices go with the ie6. The se210s have good midrange and treble but no bass. Very good for vocal-heavy uses like audiobooks or podcasts, but not worth $150 imo.
