    Dali Headphones

I have decided to keep the IO-4, as the seal kept getting better to a level that I can live with. However they seem to have developed an issue when using Bluetooth, where especially with YouTube the right side crackles while something is playing. Turning them off and on again changes behavior...

    Dali Headphones

True, but I am having issues with the original earpads. I can wear my Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro for hours. I could also wear my Surface Headphones for hours... putting those on feels like sinking into a super nice, comfortable pillow. The Dali make my ears hurt after maybe 30-45 minutes, as they...

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

That's a good deal. The WF-1000x have dropped in price too, it seems, so they become much more reasonable/acceptable considering the price. For the past month I've had the Bose SoundSport Free for review, and I must say I am quite impressed. Usability-wise there's no competition. Volume...

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

Currently I have the Bose SoundSport Free for review, and while they don't sound as food as the Sony's, they are much better in terms of usability and connection quality. Except for with Windows 10, they don't seem to work at all there. But otherwise, being able to switch between devices easily...

Even with SBC you should only hear compression artifacts, the sound signature is the same. I'd say they were defective or you couldn't get a seal. Or... I once heard them like you described, and the reason was connection issues. Like, not caused by SBC but by interferences. Turn them off and on...

It is. I couldn't get my Macs to play AAC, so I could hear those artifacts too. And I've also tried SBC on my Android, and yet again, same issues. (Also SBC didn't help me with the connection issues).

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

Yes. However it depends on what public place we are talking about. It's worst when in electronics shops with lots of TVs (especially if they are smart etc.). That sort of surrounding. Regular public places... usually fine, but there are occasional drop offs. If you want zero, then these aren't...

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

Nope, I didn't. However the computer I was using it with might have been connected to the mouse via BT... not sure though. As for the PXC 550, I like these Sonys a lot more. The sound signature on the PXC 550 changes depending on the noise cancelling setting, the isolation is IMHO not as good...

Updating worked flawless on my set through my Android phone, while a colleague tried to update the second set via his iPhone and failed multiple times (similar to your issues... he also has an Apple Watch). Then I used my phone to update the other set, but forgot I was doing so and moved away...

I have drop offs too, I'd say it's fair to say all have this issue? Or maybe it depends on your phone, too? In any case, I personally can absolutely live with the issue. If you can't, then wait for a revised version, because apart from the AirPods, which don't sound good, you just have to live...

Interesting. I have the volume setting there too, but it only displays the volume. I can't unfold it to adjust the actual volume. Go figure...

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

I believe what happens is the following: The earphones have their own volume setting. Some devices, like iPhones, Macs, and SOME Android phones control that internal volume setting. Other devices do not, but control how loud the volume sent through is. i.e. to reduce the volume, they reduce the...

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

Once the left earphone is disconnected from the phone, the phone will stop playing. That's true. But if it were near field communication or something like that, how could the right side have a signal from maybe 10 meters distance? The behavior, the kind of drop offs is exactly the same with my...

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

I don't think that's the case with the WF-1000X. I tried walking away from my phone with only the right ear plugged in, the left plug remaining with the phone, and the connection was just as good/bad as before. I'll have to try what happens if the left plug is far away from the phone (but still...

But where? There's nothing in the app that even looks like volume controls? If I press the vol up button, I'm already maxed out. I can't find anything in the settings. Or elsewhere. Ok, now I managed to reconnect it to the phone, and it recognizes the WF-1000X. It shows me WF-1000X version...
