Have the same Benchmark stack as you except in silver. I’m running the Quads balanced via a silver lavricables.

Which pads are you using, people in this thread often do not mention that. I love the angled pleather pads myself, feel like it puts out the proper amount of bass and very open speaker like presentation.

I would agree on the angled pads being superior and what makes the Quads more desirable, but the $300 price gap is pretty steep. If Massdrop price was MSPR I think more people would be trying these out.

It appears that the Brainwavz Alara may be from the same oem template. Wonder how they would compare to the Quads, and especially highlight if there was any custom tuning performed by either brand or they are just straight off the shelf.

As a dac, it probably is, but for the same money, the ADI-2 PRO also has a AD and much more functionality, whether the additional processing and the AD is needed is entirely personal preference. The Benchmark is a very very good DAC, when they announced the DAC3, I reached out to Benchmark...

I just picked up an ADI-2 PRO myself. Not sure what you mean by "maybe" sounds better than the Mojo. I have a Benchmark DAC2, which IMO blows the Mojo away fairly easily. With that said, the ADI-2 PRO will be replacing my Benchmark DAC2 and ADC1 USB combo. I am very impressed with RME's work on...

Received mine today as well. Sadly the sound doesn't impress me much. Also driven by a Mojo. I personally prefer my Sony MDR-7520 to these, and what I consider neutral. The SINE are definitely high resolving, just not engaging enough for my taste. Even if the 2 headphones cost the same, I would...

I am fully aware they are, no argument there. For me they simply raise awareness of new products that I may not have otherwise known existed/came to the market.
