I'm curious as to which DAC chip is inside the Yamaha Receiver. I will open it up to see, I'll post pics of it. I'm fairly new to forums and etc. If I do take it apart would I post pics in this thread or start a new one? Thanks

So the burr brown dac that's included in the receiver isn't good?  

So in general all I'm using is the Yamaha Receiver using toslink cables connected to my Macbook Pro and Vox Music player and occasionally I use XLD Converter. Equipment wise or software wise in general any recommendations on what else I should get or try? I know headphones for sure but beyond that.

Oops sorry I forgot to ask this question as well. When I'm listening to music my Yamaha receiver says "PCM" could explain that to me in human terms as well? Sorry

Thank you for your response! The other only thing is that I received the Yamaha receiver as a gift so it's not hooked up to any speakers or etc. I am currently using the Bose Companion 3 Series 2. Could I use the receiver just for the purpose of the headphone output? Sorry for all these questions.

Hello I am new to this forum and to the audio world somewhat. My question is can I connect the Schiit Modi Usb/Dac from my Macbook to my Yamaha Rx V367 Receiver?
