All of the press I've read seem to like them a lot.  Listeners can be like flavors of ice cream; and each one has their favorites.   These new models look very nice.  The originals are keepers....

Break-in is key as well. I go between HPs all of the time. If they haven't been played in awhile they sound a bit congested or dull. After several tracks they open up nicely.

I should delete my prior postings... The audio experience is about evolution and progression. At 20+ hours... They're opening up beautifully. Tonality as described previously is simply correct and very musical.

After 10 hours... They're breaking in nicely. Congestion has given way to warmth and a gentle high frequency section that avoids fatigue. Superb packaging; build quality; and very nice warm/tubeness to the sonics. Falling under the World of McIntosh (WOM) moniker... Expect nice sonics at an expense.

I wonder if anyone has silver cables of similar input sizes and swapped the stock cables out..  I should contact Drew for possibility.

Ok.  I am not a headphone guy- but I do love audio and listen heavily.  These are some pretty stunning headphones.  Totally Sonus Faber.  Well-built and extremely well made.  No attention to detail was spared.    Unfortunately, they're very dark and lack dynamics.  My last several headphones...
