I got the ZMF lambskin pads add performed the all stickers off mod, and I can indeed say that pads are the icing on the cake. Loved the 8XX with the sticker mod as I mentioned earlier. Love them even more with the ZMF pads. It improves the bass and gives it a little more body while not impacting...

Man that sounds perfect to me! Cant wait for my pads to come tomorrow. I agree, with the stickers off clarity is much improved and the congestion/constriction to the sound is cleared away.

I ended up ordering the ZMF Lambskin. They should be arriving Thursday. I'll report back my findings, but note that I have removed all the stickers on my 8XX.

I have this same question too. Birthday is coming up and I want to treat myself with some new pads!

I know some people may not approve but I got an adapter off of Aliexpress that let's me use any mmcx cable with them. I posted pictures earlier in the thread of it with a modular cable that lets me swap the termination on the fly.

If that is how you want to view things that's fine too. I personally don't care too much about warranties, and got a balanced cable for under $75. I was looking for over a 1.5 years for a sub $1200 deal on a new 800S and never saw one or sub $800 for a used. So for me under $800 for a new 8XX...

I didn't bother cleaning, reassembling, & listening between each sticker removal to see what the effect would be. My goal with the 8XX originally was to get as close to the 800S as possible for as little as possible. So for me, I just went straight to no stickers, since many people who did that...

I absolutely prefer without the stickers. Improved timbre, clarity, detail, air, soundstage over bass & fullness that can be easily EQ'd back is a no brainer for me. Other's may not feel the same, and that is ok. But for me. I'm glad I did the mod.

WOW! I took off all the stickers, and the airiness, clarity, timbre, & quality of soundstage are noticeably better. FYI for those who haven't done this yet and are interested, I tried both 100% isopropyl alcohol and hand sanitizer as removal agents, and hand sanitizer is the way to go! I think...

Has anyone tried using them reversed & upside down with the fiio utws5? How is the comfort?
