Digital gain (headphone DAC/amplifier) - does it affect sound?
So today I picked up an old Fiio E17 and compared the old ATH M50 vs the Audeze LCD 2 with Fazor. Set up - Flac -> Laptop ->USB -> DAC/Amp (Fiio E17) -> Headphones Anyway - I realised the gain was set at medium. No EQ on the Fiio - everything flat so as to not add any additional circuitry...- joker97

Quad DACs in mobile phones - why need 4?
I am reading the hype about the amazing quad DACs in LG's phones, the V20 and V30. Now without knowing much more, why would you have 4 DACs instead of 1 big one? Even if you have 1 for each channel you'd have 2 DACs. So one for bass and one for the rest of the frequency range perhaps? Really?- joker97

Dell XPS 15 9530 internal DAC + AMP is mean!
Yes i have figured something. It's all in the work of maxxaudio pro, the digital sound effect software. Please note i have not tested the DAC without that exact software. So the purists please unsubscribe this thread and don't kill me ... I just don't have thousands of dollars for a Schiit...- joker97

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
I had both the HD600 (I found a tad sibilant, but very fatiguing) I have the LCD2F - I find a tad sibilant, but cannot say whether fatiguing - I had never used it straight up. What I do is turn down the treble and turn up the bass to neutralise the fazor. I dare say it will be fatiguing for...- joker97

Schiit Valhalla vs Fiio E17 will improve Senn HD600 by how much?
no point getting the valhalla without a DAC of sorts. in the end i went the portability way, so i can't comment on high end DAC - AMP setups- joker97

What lightweight closed cans have sound signature like Audeze LCD 2?
My LCD2s are fantastic! Except they are very bulky. What lightweight closed cans sound like it (ie lots of sub bass - quality and quantity, detailed midrange and treble but not bright not sibilant)? Budget around say $250-500. Thanks (was considering Sennheiser Momentum) (I know the...- joker97
