1 TOTL or 2-3 Mid-fi?
A €1000 headphone isn't necessarily "better" than a €300 headphone. You should forget about the price tags, and try out different headphones, and see what you like. I've tried some headphones that cost above €1000 where I live. Some of them I liked, and some of them I didn't like at all. I...- JoachimL

Best Accurate, Detailed, Clear and Neutral Headphones $1K-5K
I'd suggest auditioning Ollo S4X as well. Designed for music production. I'm well pleased with the sound of mine. I paid a little less than $400 for them. If you visit the sound science forum on this page, you can find a study that shows that there's no correlation between frequency response...- JoachimL

Help please. Haven’t bought new cans in years: <$400, over ear, wired, comfy w/eyeglasses
I just bought an Ollo S4X headphone, new for about $380. I'm happy with the sound - it has a quite neutral tuning, and the comfort to me is very good (I don't wear glasses, though). Ollo audio offer a 30-day trial period from delivery date, and a 5 year limited warranty. I've tried more...- JoachimL

Headphones for mixing - HD600 / Avantone Planar / Ollo S4X
Thanks for the input. Do you have any experience with the Ollos? From what I hear, they don't really need an amp.- JoachimL

Headphones for mixing - HD600 / Avantone Planar / Ollo S4X
Hey. I write songs (using typically guitar, piano and strings vsts, vocals, and drum software). I was hoping to make decent sounding demos, beginning this winter. My room isn't acoustically treated, so I figure it's better to mix with headphones than monitors. After having researched a bit, it...- JoachimL

LCD-2F 2014 driver replacement
Hello. I'm considering buying a pair of LCD-2F from 2014. Since Audeze has updated their drivers a few times since 2014 - would there be a need to replace both drivers, in case one driver of the 2014 Fazor model fails? I'm thinking there might be a mismatch in sound with one 2014 driver and...- JoachimL

Hi. Thanks for your response, and the link to the holiday sales. However, a new LCD-3 is out of my price range.- JoachimL

HE-500 or Audeze LCD-2/3?
Haven't decided on a pair of headphones yet, so I figured I could pose a few more questions. I tested the Aeon Flow open - thanks for the recommendation. I liked it quite a bit. Wish the vocal presentation was slightly less forward. Also a little wider sound stage would be nice. But I found...- JoachimL

Good amp (w/ or w/o DAC) for Grado SR325e and FLC 8S
Hi. I have a pair of 325i's and a TTVJ slim dac/amp. I don't think there's much of a difference between the sound quality from the headphone out on my laptop and from the dac/amp. I've heard good things about 325i's with Little Dot, but haven't tried it myself. From a better amp, like Questyle...- JoachimL

HE-500 or Audeze LCD-2/3?
Hi. Thanks for recommending the Aeon Flow. I've been curious about those. I tried Focal Elear and Clear, I think. Didn't like their signature. Sennheiser... I've tried the baby orpheus, HD800S, and HD-650. The HD800S was nice, but had a "zing" in the treble on acoustic guitar. HD650 I thought...- JoachimL

HE-500 or Audeze LCD-2/3?
Hi. I might acquire some new open headphones. I listen mostly to worship music, some post-rock, and chamber music / classical music. Also, I write music, and record demos at home from time to time. I've owned a pair of LCD-2 classic's. I found the sound pleasant, but a bit bass heavy, and a...- JoachimL

Rejoice!
I feel the sound science forum is about to cure my disease as well. All in all, I haven't been too strongly affected, though. Over the past 16 years or so, I have only bought a Grado SR80, a Grado SR325i, a koss portapro, and an LCD-2C. When it comes to headphones, I'm not really "cured". But...- JoachimL

Help Me UpGrade My Cans head-fi
Audeze LCD-2C is an option. I've owned one for a few days, and I'm happy with it. Some say the Mr.speakers aeon flow is a good alternative (haven't heard it myself). I tried the Hifiman edition X v2, which I liked even more than my LCD-2C. Maybe you could find one used at $750. ZMF headphones I...- JoachimL
