    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

Just an update... I received a question as to how this unit sounded with my HD600s, so I thought i would share my response here... "I've used it (the headphone portion) only by playing flac files with my Squeezebox, switching between both the DAC in the Squeezebox and the one in the Maverick...

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

Hopefully someone will figure out the op-amp end of this and be able to suggest a few different flavors that can be interchanged so that we can roll them. I haven't been able to spend any time listening to mine for almost a week now, but I still say that, for the money, you get a ton of...

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

I have HD600s. I've had the same pair for maybe 5 years now and really like them. I don't think there's anything to worry about as far of running out of volume.

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

I have been listening to mine, and I've got to say that I really like the way it sounds. I think it has a somewhat warm sound, both through the headphone output, and as a preamp, which suits me just fine. I'm not a fan of the sterile or clinical sound. I've been using the tube output to drive my...

    Got my paws on WA22

Here are two photos... the first will give you an idea of the size,... ...and this is the best I can do for the circuitry. More later....

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

Just a teaser - I received my Maverick yesterday afternoon, only 3-1/2 days after I ordered it. That was pretty fast... it can take that long to get a domestic letter. It's smaller than I thought it would be, but looks nice. All the switches have a nice feel to them and the volume control is...

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

Ok, I took the plunge. This is exactly what I've been looking for, and for $200, with free shipping and two-week trial, I thinks it's worth a chance. I spent almost a year working in Sweden and came back at the end of March. I would have loved to have had a component just like this over...

    Tom Waits.

Mule Variations is truly a piece of art and in my mind will probably be his career moment. I like all of his stuff through the years, there's a nice progression to each new recording. There's no one else like him now, really, but I can't help but notice the similarity he has to Captain Beefheart...

    Paul McCartney Performance

McCartney was excellent. It's just nice that they went with performers with talent enough that they don't feel the need stage a stunt to hook you in. All the performers did a good job. The sound was much better during the halftime portion than the pre-game. You could hardly hear the music...

Headphones for 3 years old kids!!!

so is it bad to jog or run with an ipod or ipod mini?

I think the only way you could damage you iPod while running would be if you were to get hit by a car. Obviously dropping them could damage something, if dropped hard enough or repeatedly.

Wilco's Jeff Tweedy on page one of Wall Street Journal

NPR did an article about this a couple of months ago and said, at the time, that there were only three companies producing mag tape components and only one making the tape. Now those three will have to cease production... About 6 or 7 years ago I shot a role of black and white film and was...

Senneheiser phone plugs (found finally? yes!?)

    Don't get Caught

I use a twisty tie on mine, a stock Senn cable. It doesn't look as cool, but serves the same function. I think a coiled cord would put tension on your head unless there was sufficient slack.
