    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Good question. The Amiron is really good, with a more relaxed and warm sound. Very comfortable to wear. I was considering going for the Amiron, but the DT1990 had something I just liked a little more. Maybe some more details in the midrange. You can't go wrong with either, in my opinion. It's...

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Difficult to say, but I honestly wouldn't bother with the L300/L500/L700, unless you really want the electrostatic sound. I'm sure lot's of people will disagree. When you're used to the Beyer build quality, the low-end Stax plastic just doesn't feel right. But the SR-007 and 009 are great...

Shootout: Lake People G99/2 vs. Meier-Audio Corda Opera

Quote: Well, I thought so too, so afterwards I tried connecting both the G99/2 and the Opera to a Lite DAC60 I use for my stereo setup. The DAC60 is slightly better than the Operas DAC.   Using this setup, I still heard the same differences between the two amps, so my conclusion...

    beyerdynamic A1 + DT770/880/990

I did a little review a while back: And a comparison to my Meier Corda Opera: I don't have much experience with really high quality amps, but compared to my Meier Corda Opera...

I've had Serengeti's for years now, and have been totally happy with them. However, I haven't tried the competition for years too, so I took a trip to some shops for some quick testing. Especially curious about Oakleys. Short version: I'm keeping my Serengeti's. :-) Some Ray-bans were...

    Fairly huge comparison: Senn HD457/497, HD555/595, BeyerDTX700/800/900, DT440/660/860

As ourfpshero says, an amp isn't really needed, but it helps. If the choice was to buy a cheaper headphone + an amp, or the DT660 with no amp, I'd go for the DT660 every time. You'll need a decent amp to notice a significant difference, especially if your portables got good internal amps.

Compared: Three GermanMaestro headphones (previously MB Quart)

This time I’ve borrowed three headphones from a company I don’t know at all. Their name is GermanMAESTRO, a fairly new company, and apparently they are “comprised of industry experts who were the marketing, engineering and manufacturing strength behind the original German-made MB Quart...

I haven't tried it myself, but I recon it will be hard to better the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 for gaming. It retails at €299 (about $460). beyerdynamic Shop*-*MMX 300 However, it's possible to better it. ;-) Again from Beyer, the Headzone Game: Pretty much the ultimate gaming...

    Beyerdynamic A 1 headphone amplifier

Now they're getting somewhere. I always thought it was a little overpriced, but €100 definitely helps. This is a bloody good amplifier, that really lives up to the Dynamic part of its name. :-)

    Beyerdynamic Headzone Question

For me, the out-of-the-head experience was very convincing with the Headzone Pro I tested. 5.1 movie soundtracks sounded way better than with regular stereo listening. The Headzone Home would probably suit you better, as it got digital inputs and a simpler interface. The Pro-version...
