Dt770 with fiio e11. Been everywhere tried everything. That's the best combo.

Beyerdymanic dt770s. I had no idea what was good and bad in the audio world and you guys really helped me out. Discoverd that an amp can really make a difference, even if its only a fiio e11, best $290 purchase ever. Headfi once, head fi for life.

after 70 hours of break in and a fiio e11 with my ipod classic i can say i am overwhelmed with my 770's. build quality is as top as i can ever see with it not being a metal brick, sound quality is superb however even i can see what people mean by a huge lack of midrange and im no huge audiophile...

100 hours it is, even after 15, they seem to sound a bit better. however they have a very muddy heck of a thump in the mid bass, i hope that recesses as they warm up. 

Thanks for your input everyone. After reading tons of reviews on the custom one pros they all led to the dt770. So I picked those bad boys up. They are currently being broken in (25 hours sound like enough?) They sound fine out of my MBP. And I'm currently awaiting my fiio e11 for my iPod. Guess...

I also really don't wanna have to carry around an amp. Anyone have any suggestions for unamped cans?

Hm I'm reading they can't be driven off an iPod. But they say the HiFi 680s can. Any opinions on them?

Can I run the pro 900s off my iPod without a significant sound quality loss with no amp? Defiantly interested
