ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
He does not offer wood change service as it would be extremely time-intensive and extremely costly. It is likely POSSIBLE to change the wood yourself, but you would likely be voiding the warranty and without getting your cup milled EXACTLY right and adjusting the dampening to account for the...- jdhore

The Stax Thread III
353X doesn't have much more power, the biggest improvement over the 323S is that it exposes the balanced inputs that the 323S apparently has internally. According to Spritzer, the 323S/353X is currently the best amp that Stax makes. The 717 and 727 can be feedback modded to sound decent and...- jdhore

HD700 vs HD800 vs LCD-2
I've demoed HD800's several times from several amps (Schiit Magni 2U, Schiit Ragnarok, some Eddie Current amp and an Aune S16). All of them had harsh treble (though the Eddie Current's treble was the least bad IMO). I also tried HD800S on the Ragnarok and while it was certainly better than the...- jdhore

The Journey
Let's have a bit of story time...JD's Audio Journey (tl;dr: My introduction): I was born a poor bl...Wait, that's a different story... Like most people in this hobby (I think), I started on low-fi/budget-fi crap like Sony MDR-ZX100 and crappy gaming headsets. From there I upgraded...- jdhore

Good heaphone for rock music?
I really like the Fostex TH-X00's for rock. If you don't want to buy used or deal with several-month turnarounds from Massdrop, TH-600's are slightly better (but more expensive). They're kinda U-shaped, but they're really smooth and don't have the harsh treble of Beyers.- jdhore

KOSS ESP-950 Thread
If anyone here has the Darin Fong ESP950 -> Stax adapter cable, are the pins on the Stax end really rough at the tip? This cable seems a bit poorly made for being a $150 cable...- jdhore

Schiit Owners Unite
IMO, the best price/performance with Schiit right now are the Modi 2 Uber and Magni 2 Uber for the lower-budget and Gungnir + Mjolnir 2 for higher budget. Both sets are powerful enough to drive HE-400's or HE-500's- jdhore

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I'm curious... Does anyone know when Sennheiser went from the "old box": http://i.imgur.com/11fCr9i.jpg to the new: https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/s320x320/e15/11326807_101448926864224_142534947_n.jpg ? Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I mean no, but it's more justified when you're spending $200 to improve your $2000 headphones vs spending $200 to improve $1000 headphones.- jdhore

Physical vs Streaming vs Digital Files
I've recently moved from Digital Files (A mix of 256k+ MP3's and FLACs) to streaming. I have accounts at Google Play Music and TIDAL. I tend to use GPM for most of my listening because it's smaller files, has a better UI and I prefer their computer curation of playlists to TIDAL's rap-heavy... -
HD700 vs HD800 vs LCD-2
IMO, here's the breakdown between the 3: HD800 - SUPER-detailed, VERY neutral, VERY harsh highs (without modding, after modding the highs are still too harsh for me IMO, but they're acceptable to others), very comfortable HD700 - Similar to HD700, but smaller earpads (less comfortable) and...- jdhore
