k501! The k{6,7}01 sounded the same to me, and neither one had a very good midrange. k271s are the best closed headphone I've heard.

I use the cheap onboard sound card for speakers and the chaintech av710 for my headphones. Still trying to figure out how to have them both going at the same time though.

You really hear that much of a difference? I started going back to high bitrate mp3s a while ago because I couldn't hear much of an improvement. Maybe I'll try flac again.

The k501s have one of the best midranges of all the dynamic headphones I heard at headfest '07.

I just built and tested my first cmoy using tutorial from tangentsoft.net with all the recommended components. When I tested it with an ipod and the KSC-75s, the sound is a bit noisy and clips at medium volumes. Any idea why? Should I go ahead and add the R5 resistors? Here are pics of the...
