Best 1/4 to 1/8 ...Does it matter?
Well, I know it would matter. But I just recieved a set of Audio-Technia W100's in the mail, and cannot use them becuase the soundcard I am running them off of(I know, I am upgrading) only has 1/8 inputs. So I'm out to Radioshack to buy an adapter. The adapter is gold plated, but I'm...- jb4555

Music Hall Turntable / Vinyl newbie
Hey everybody, I posted before about getting a cheap turntable setup, and it seems that there is no real "cheap" way to go for less than $300 or more, especially becuase I have to buy a phono pre amp too. So before I plunk down a crap load of bucks, I just wanna get some things straight. The...- jb4555

Good Cheap Turntable?
I really dont know. Do vintage turntables sound better than the modern ones? Im not looking to Dj or anything. Just to hook up to an amp and listen to. If I'd have to give a price range, I guess under $100 (dunno if that is super cheap or not)- jb4555

What do you guys think of this?
how do you think this would fair as a headphone amp? I would use just source to amp to and out to phones through the analog out. I have never had a headphone amp before and am in the market for one, so this deal really caught my eye.- jb4555

Dredg - The Most Unique Sound of The 21st Century
Big props to Dredg. Saw these guys live at the Village Underground in NYC and loved them. Got to talk to the singer while he was outside the club, and he's a straight up nice guy. Get both their lp's. Support true music. -
Digital out: Optical or Coaxial?
If you a cd player that offered both optical and dig coax, but you had a DAC that only accepted Dig Coax, would it be better to just use the Dig Coax, or use optical out of the cdp and then use a converter to convert into Dig Coax? Will the converter affect sound?- jb4555

Everyone has pretty much covered the essentials. You said you love Dj Shadow, which is great to hear, so you should check out Dj Krush for sure. He as a great duet cd with a trumpet player that is awesome (forget the exact name). Also, try Karate, which is kinda trip hop, downtemp indie... -

Sony MDR-CD3000 best for this setup?
Thats a problem. I will be listening to a lot of stuff. Yes, rock is a staple of mine, from hardcore/metal to indie stuff, but also electronic music (trip hop, drum and bass), hip hop, a little jazz, basically everything. I really never listen to classical, but would just to see how the CD3000s...- jb4555
