No need amp for HD58X. For me at least, I can't tell any difference between powering it directly with iPhone or HDV820 DAC/AMP. It sounds great.

If you decide to go with HD600 or HD650, you may also want to take a look at the Massdrop version:HD6xx. Same cans at a much better price. If you decide to go with the next level: Beyerdynamic T1 . I have a used one in very good condition for sale, PM me if you like to see some pictures :)

Yep, same here.

You have to search for HD 820 instead of HD820 on their website. Poor search keyword optimization, not sure how much sales they have lost due to this.

I pre-ordered HD820 at their SF store a while back and received it this Monday. I made the decision after listened 800, 800s and 820 side by side in their store, I'm very happy with the purchase :)

Just received my on Monday. Haven't had too much time to listen to it yet. My first impression is it really sounds like a open-back headphone, the sound stage is amazing compare to other closed back headphones.
