Obscure Chinese DAPs
I'm in the same boat. I'm torn between the Z3, X9 or X10.. leaning towards the X10. One issue I read was that the X10 has SNR: 98 dB. The Z3 ≥105dB.. X9 is ≥ 108dB. I don't know what this means for practical use. I like the look of the X10.. just wish there were more reviews and hands on...- jason32835

Earbuds Round-Up
This tread is overwhelming. I'm looking to get a set of earbuds. I want to start around ~10USD. I plan to pair with a Zishan Z3. I tend to enjoy a neutral sound. I currently have SHP9500s that I love but need something more mobile. Trying to decide between these: Snow Lotus 1.0 64 ohm EMX500...- jason32835

Monoprice Hi-Fi DJ Style Headphone Review
Big ears won't be a problem but they do clamp uncomfortably on my glasses, however I have that problem with other full sized headphones. Clamping force is high at first and they don't seem very comfortable, but after wearing them for a few months the clamping force eases up and they have...- jason32835

Use a Technics SA-EX140 Receiver with my PC?
OK, total noob warning.. I'm just starting to stick my big toe into the PC audio hobby. I am also on a tight budget and would like to learn as much as I can without spending too much money. So I first purchased some headphones and ended up with the well regarded Monoprice 8323 and...- jason32835

$100, DAC/amp or new Headphones?
Thank you. Yeah, I did end up upgrading my headphones. It seems that is the way to go until you get to the upper level of headphones (or high impedance).- jason32835

DIY DAC from China?
Ebay seems to have tons of DAC kits based on the WM8740 Wolfson and the TI PCM2760 chips. Some of them are in the $50-$60 range. Anyone ever tried one of these kits? I saw one where the guy would eve solder it for $8 :) Just curious how one of these would sound if they were put together...- jason32835

$100, DAC/amp or new Headphones?
Oh yeah, I've read that thread at length. So laptop ---> E17 ---> headphones wouldn't be a noticable improvement over Clip+ --> headphones? Or maybe not with the headphones I currently have? I might look at used gear also if it will make my $$ stretch further. Or wait and save...- jason32835

$100, DAC/amp or new Headphones?
I'm hoping this question is enough of a deviation from the "which amp is best for $100" threads to warrent a response. The deal is, I have $100 only to improve my audio setup and I want to make sure I get the most out of it. I currently listen to music mostly at work via a Sansa Clip + and...- jason32835

Quote: Nice!! I've just spent the better part of the day researching Android usb audio.. very frustrating reading if you can't afford an S3! I think I might buy an E7 and hook it to my HP Touchpad and just wait for someone to make it work :) I guess the E7 is a good bet for this...- jason32835

Sansa Clip+ -- > Yamaha RH-5Ma This is my first set up.. very small budget as you can tell. I'm pretty happy with the sound quality but now I'd like to try for an upgrade. I was thinking maybe an E10 and some sort of I-device? Dunno yet. At least my ears are happy for the moment.- jason32835
