Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Thanks for the confirmation. What a waste of time putting pre-outs on! Now I'm in a quandary - to "upgrade" to a Lyr 2 or start the path to a balanced system?- Jamesy1969

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
A bit off-topic but I'm not sure where else to ask this! Does anyone else use the Lyr as a pre-amp? I've recently added a power amp and 'speakers to my system (Bifrost Uber and Lyr) and it's been very noisy! I've tried different sets of tubes (Telefunkens, Philips and Mallards) but all sound...- Jamesy1969

FiiO X7 | DXD | DSD | 384K/64B | ESS9018+ Android | WiFi | Bluetooth | 4 AMP modules | Balanced Out |
Thank you so much. It's very appreciated! Oh and, while I'm at it, if you've just joined: sorry for your wallet! I have looked at the Tuff-Luv but it's not exactly what I want. Ideally I want something shaped just like the FiiO case but with an additional cut-out. If I can't find a custom case...- Jamesy1969

FiiO X7 | DXD | DSD | 384K/64B | ESS9018+ Android | WiFi | Bluetooth | 4 AMP modules | Balanced Out |
Apologies if this has been answered but a rudimentary search didn't come up with anything! Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who makes custom leather DAP cases? I want a real leather case for my X7 like the tan FiiO one but with a cutout for the card slot (I change it a lot...- Jamesy1969

The Best audiophile tracks to test equipment
I was listening to Muddy's classic "Folk Singer" yesterday whilst walking the dog; 24/192 FLAC->FiiO X7->balanced out to->Shure SE846. I had a sudden "Oh yeah, this is what all the expense is about!" moment :-)- Jamesy1969

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
I'm very happy with my combination of M1 piped out to Chord Mojo but does anyone do a nice braided cable (or just a soft cable) "off-the-shelf"? I have a short cable (right angled plugs on both ends) from HK that does the job but the cable itself is quite stiff and I feel that it may...- Jamesy1969

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
Cheers mate! That's a backup if I can't find anything else. Ideally I'd like something shorter and available mail order but I can get to Maplin on Saturday if needs be- Jamesy1969

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
Hi guys I may be (probably) repeating a request but I'm struggling to find a definitive answer. I apparently received my Chord Mojo this morning (I say apparently as I work away from home 4 days of the week) and realised I haven't ordered a cable to make it work with the M1. Where can I...- Jamesy1969

Fully intended selling this gear - Matrix CUBE and HD700's - as it's been sitting around for a while. There's no doubt it's harsher than my normal home setup but it's so much better than anything I've used in an hotel before- Jamesy1969
