Two Sound Cards >> One Output Is it Possible?
I'd like to have the benefits of positional audio with Dolby Surround for specific gaming software- and the benefit of HiFi sound, without adding any distortion or equalizer effects that Surround would add to my music. Having two sound cards would make having both be much more convenient.- Izzot

Two Sound Cards >> One Output Is it Possible?
So let's say I have two sound cards. One's driver software settings is set to Dolby Surround and is only utilized for gaming, where as my other soundcard is set to default for music, movies, etc. Theoretically, could I use a splitter to connect the audio coming from soundcard #1...- Izzot

Anyone interested in the subgenre of Shoegaze?
Gonna have to recommend this band to anyone that likes Shoegaze. This record is lush with different sounds like Chiptune and IDM, but it makes it sound so cohesive for such an eclectic album. -
Lets Talk Metal
I'm gonna have to go with Buried with Leeches by Dragged Into Sunlight. The band brings a lot of grindcore and black metal influences in, but that gritty, distorted death metal production is what sells this record for me. -

$200-$250 closed back cans for Rock music and Gaming
I'm looking for a pair of closed-back headphones that don't leak much sound, and also play guitar-centric (rock, punk, metal, lo-fi music) decently. Gaming is preferably the highest priority of what I'm looking for in a pair of headphones, so I can sacrifice a little as long as the soundstage is...- Izzot

The best headphones for metal/hardcore music?
For your price range, Ultrasone PRO 750's are perfect. However, it wouldn't hurt to look in your area to see if there are any stores that demo Grado headphones. They have a very aggressive soundstage, so they aren't for everyone, (myself included) but many love them for heavy distorted rock...- Izzot

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Just upgraded my ATH m50s to the HE-400 and I'm loving it so far. I'm not currently driving the headphones through anything but my Asus Xonar STX soundcard with the factory default opamp. Would getting a dedicated amp do a huge improvement to sound quality? Would buying a separate opamp...- Izzot

Quote: Thanks! Now that the Audio Technica ATH-W1000X is for $400 on the deals thread, would that be a good buy, similar to the DT 990? The InnerFidelity review says that the W1000X is also a "V-shaped" can.- Izzot

I've made a couple posts before, but I haven't really gotten much of a response. After weeks of research, I've come to find two headphones around my budget that I'm looking for: Ultrasone Pro 900 and the Beyerdynamic DT880. Currently, I'm sporting the AudioTechnica ATH M50. I love it and if...- Izzot

Advice Needed: Do I need an amp with Xonar STX + DT880?
I'm planning on purchasing a Beyerdynamics DT880 250Ω for both music and gaming on my desktop PC. I don't have any amps- however my PC is sporting a ASUS Xonar STX soundcard with the one factory standard opamp. The only issue is that I've heard that higher impedence headphones don't sound well...- Izzot
