HiFiMan Susvara
Entered the world of speaker amps, I found all my headphones (AKG K701 / HD800 / Abyss 1266 / Susvara) Can't agree more, all my headphones **AKG K701 / HD800 / Susvara / Abyss 1266 phi** sounds "level up" when they connected to descent speaker amps.- ineztia

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Exactly, just treat 1266/Susvara/HE6 and all those low-sensitivity top level planar HPs as speakers. I think Formula S (without Powerman) is a descent HP amp, and particularly good for 1266 phi. It's clean, smooth, elegant. I'm not sure if it played some tricks to suppress the exaggerated...- ineztia

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Accuphase E480 is my current gear. FM 711(borrowed from my friend) is perfect however the price is "perfect" too, it's an ideal amp for me but now I can't afford it.- ineztia

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
I couldn't agree more. A good SS amp is a good SS amp. I A/B tested my Abyss 1266 phi (not TC) on both Formula S/Accuphase E480/FM Acoustics 711, after that I'd say Hi-end speaker amps won't let you disappointed. :dt880smile:- ineztia

HiFiMan Susvara
Sorry that I've been pretty busy for past few days and did not have enough time to listen. For these two DACs, here's my impression: Chord Dave has typical modern sounds, with brighter treble (sometimes too bright, I can hardly bear the treble on some vocal tracks though Dave>Mark 380L>FM...- ineztia

HiFiMan Susvara
I've tried 3 DACs, Chord Dave / dCS Debussy / A portable all-in-one DAC(quad AKM4497 chips) engineered by CyAudio Abyss 1266 is too heavy for me so it's not in my list. I don't have a chance to compare these 2 headphones on equal setups. I went through every pages in SR1a thread, i am very...- ineztia

HiFiMan Susvara
The "FM Acoustics 711" When I was having a good time with my Accuphase E480 a few weeks ago, I felt it was the best sound I've ever heard from Susvara (see the previous post here). "Spaciousness", "Energetic", "Noble treble" and "Smooth" would be the words to state my initial impression. I was...- ineztia

No I don't think so, The fact is, you usually receive only 5% improvements when you pay 100% extra money, that's HIFI lol. :o2smile:- ineztia

Amps around $5k~$10k like accuphase e480, pass labs xa150.8, moon 600i/700i, etc... are basically on the same level. May be someone is better than others but not so much. It depends on your interest. I was thinking of these amps ought to be the END for Susvara and thats all the Susvara can...- ineztia

HiFiMan Susvara
According to my limited experiences, Formula S is so far the best matching HP amp for Susvara I've ever listened (Personally I'm a fan of SS amps), I don't feel there's much difference in transient response between a good HP amp and Accuphase, I think it relies more on control than power drain...- ineztia

HiFiMan Susvara
For a long time I was looking for a decent amp for my Susvara. In this thread there're many Hi-end references, Passlabs, Bryston, Simaudio... Take them into serious consideration and did some A/B tests in local stores, I took back Accuphase E480 as my current set. According to the specs...- ineztia

HiFiMan Susvara
I tested Accuphase E480's front headphone jack with my Gradolabs PS2000e / AKG K701, I have to say it's totally beyond my expectation, the sound image is wide open with decent depth, vocals and instruments are focused, natural, smooth and rich in detail as well. The overall quality makes me...- ineztia

Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A
According to the official posts, 100W amp(mostly, class AB) is recommended for this headphone, can I use a 30W class A amp to drive it ? for example, Accuphase E650, Passlabs INT 30A / INT 60 ? Some Hi-End 30W class A amp is enough power to drive Dynaudio C2. lol.- ineztia
