Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the electricity is discharging from your phone and interfering with either the magnetic parts in the system or the analog tapes just don't like cell phone signals. This is most likely not a usual happening, as few people use that exact setup.

If you need a bang-for-buck amp, get the Schiit Magni or JDS O2.

If cables just change the sound signature, why not buy a better amp or get your headphones layered with craft gold?

You take the magnets from the DT770 and dump them into the diaphragm of the Mad Dogs. Then magic happens.                 Your headphones will probably explode.

Probably caused by the lower impedance headphones not absorbing the whole current at plugin like an earlier commenter stated. These are designed to put 1000W into 32 Ω, so the problem may be your headphones and not the amp.

There's always the Mad Dogs and DT770 for much cheaper than this.
