Help me choose the right headphone!

As Manbear said... you've pretty much limited to yourself to the K550.

[HELP] Looking for closed Headphones (Amperior, mdr-1r, Onkyo)

I don't know about any of the other headphones on that list, but I can tell you that the Amperior is a great headphone; I enjoy its portability and strong, punchy bass.   I feel like you really can't go wrong with any of those. I've learned that, the more you research, the less happy you'll be...

JVC flats or Seenheiser HD 201?

I feel the same way. The HD201s just aren't that great (personally).... again, bad fit and too bright for me.   Save up for a little longer and look for headphones ~$50. Then you'll be much more happy.

I have the BD DT 990 Pro 250Ω and the AKG Q 701's. I like bass. What's next?

I have a feeling like the HE 400s would be fine with an O2, but it also depends on how loud you play your music. I haven't heard the DT 990s but the 770s have quite quite quite a lot of bass.

I have the BD DT 990 Pro 250Ω and the AKG Q 701's. I like bass. What's next?

I far as I recall there have not been many 'bass-heavy' headphones past the DT 770 Pro in terms of pricing. Most tend to be much more laid back (such as the HD 650). However, I have heard good things about the bass response on the HE 400, but those are really hard to drive. What's your source/amp?

    Advice for first audiophile headphone

Why does the driver size matter to you so much? It's not a subwoofer in the back of your car.... I really haven't noticed a difference with larger drivers.   They may not fit all of your criteria, but my vote is the HD 25. They're somewhat comfortable, clean but strong bass, and extremely...

IEMs for rock/modern rock/soft rock Under $50 (Gift)

I really like(d) my PK3's, which are earbud style (so more comfortable). I say 'liked' because for some weird reason the bass response pooped out, the right channel before the left.   Joker also has a HUGE IEM/portables roundup you should look at.

    Help for a Newb (M50x vs DT770 80?)

The DT 770 is more detailed than the m50. (Not sure about the m50x.) The bass on the DT 770 is not overwhelming for me, personally, especially because the separation of the instruments makes it less noticeable. But, for jazz/classical, the bass 'boost' is really too much.   However, I have the...

    AKG-Q701 Pairings

The Magni and Modi I have are great for 200, with any headphones, really. The Magni can be a bit harsh in the treble but for $100, it's quite a steal (that's also made in the US).   I don't like (the idea of) soundcards since (personally) you can get a lot of interference with them, being...

Need help choosing between Four $200 and under Portable Headphones

I haven't heard those headphones... but...   I have the Sennheiser Amperior; those are more than $200 (unfortunately not on sale anymore), but the HD 25 is usually around or under 200. They are the same except that the Amperiors have aluminium cups   I love the sound. Bassy enough for me to...

Background Noise in DT 990 when used with Magni

Sounds like a power issue for the Magni. Contact Schiit, they're somewhat fast with customer responses.   Have you ran the DT 990 without the amp, just using the analog plug on your computer? That could reduce the possibilities.   Also, (sometimes) your phone can cause static/whining issues...

    THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD

Hey guys, I've been dormant for a bit, and now have re-kindled my love for audio and Head-Fi. For this, I made a stand out of iron piping, with insulate at the top. The reason why the base is so big is that I hope to fit a Magni and Modi underneath, along with a pair of DT 770 250 ohm cans...

Alessandro MS1000 and MS Ultimate - DIY & modding [56K warning]

Bump to this epic thread!   Could I make the distancers out of yogurt cups? Like, smaller, 6 oz Stonyfield cups? I saw them in my fridge and I thought, "Wow, this just might work!"   I can cut a hole where the entire speaker grille is showing yet having enough contact with the Grado...

    suggestions?

Welcome to Head-fi!   What about the M50? Great looks, killer sound. They're about $122 new on Amazon. They don't have a 3-button w/ mic control though. (But, I don't think that is a big deal.)   Only 13?! And I thought I was young on Head-fi
