DDCs with USB input almost never have USB output, why?
"Reservation of judgement" isn't really required though. Because the point is moot if there are like, even half a dozen(?) sources that offer a native I2S output. It's so uncommon to the point of being essentially irrelevant. No, I think you're unwittingly conflating "measurements," with "what...- hsg120

DDCs with USB input almost never have USB output, why?
Not just sample rate, but bitrate. I'm just making a point of fact--that USB has a higher bandwidth than SDPIF, i.e. bits/second. USB can also transport native DSD (not DSD over PCM). And I2S is neat and all, but I'm still not sure I understand what the advantage is if your source isn't I2S...- hsg120

DDCs with USB input almost never have USB output, why?
Ahh yes, apologies, what I mean by "bandwidth" is that SPDIF is limited to 24bit/192kHz, whereas USB can support up to 32 bit/768 kHz. The maximum communication throughput is totally irrespective of the audio file size. USB can support digital formats like native DSD for instance, whereas SPDIF...- hsg120

DDCs with USB input almost never have USB output, why?
USB and SPDIF are both just digital communication protocols, both with pros and cons. And I'm not sure that I follow what the I2S stuff was about--maybe you would be so kind as to elaborate your point for me? I would be curious to hear more about the source of your argument. I personally choose...- hsg120

DDCs with USB input almost never have USB output, why?
Yep sorry, I wasn't being precise when I said "DDC". Apologies! xD I was not previously aware of Intona or ISO Regen, so thanks to those who shared those with me! That is more or less what I was after with my initial question. I'll have to look into those more deeply. I was previously aware of...- hsg120

DDCs with USB input almost never have USB output, why?
I have owned several 'hi-fi' DDCs (e.g. Denafrips Gaia, Topping U90, Singxer Su6, etc) and often wondered why they almost invariably have a USB input, but never a corresponding USB output. S/PDIF is fabulous, if you're exclusively doing 24bit/192kHz or less. And if the proposed advantage of...- hsg120

Successor to the Singxer SDA-6 DAC
Of course! Happy to share =) Preface--I currently use a Topping A90D amp and Topping E50 DAC with a balanced connection. Amplification on the A90D amp on high gain is 15.3dB... The setup that I decided to switch to is...unusual, and one could reasonably argue that it's totally unnecessary for...- hsg120

Successor to the Singxer SDA-6 DAC
Hello! I actually decided to go in a completely different direction and actually just canceled my order yesterday. So I'm sorry I will not be able to comment on your question. I still believe on paper that it is the best DAC for the money, but the analog output voltage was not going to be...- hsg120

Successor to the Singxer SDA-6 DAC
Just placed an order for the PRO2. I saw this on Shenzhenaudio's product page-- "Upgraded with specially optimized ultra-low noise power supply system, completely solved the problem of large low-frequency distortion of AKM DAC" Does anyone know what that is all about? I've never heard of...- hsg120

Successor to the Singxer SDA-6 DAC
I just found an update on this--https://www.stereocheck.com/news/hifi/singxer-sda-6-pro2-balanced-dac-based-on-ak4499ex/ Singxer SDA-6 PRO2 , the second version of SDA-6 PRO, is a high-precision balanced DAC. It has many improvements compared to the first version: For digital-to-analog...- hsg120

Successor to the Singxer SDA-6 DAC
I've no idea if anyone else is interested, but I recently tried to buy a Singxer SDA-6 DAC from Linsoul and just wanted to share-- It didn't seem as though the SDA-6 ever got really popular, which never made sense to me. So, I'm glad to see Singxer is releasing a new model soon. While the...- hsg120

I'm a dummy and bought this DAC thinking it was the balanced version--it is not. I bought this on Ebay a few months ago for $80 as "new in box" (it still has the protective sticker over the screen). It's been sitting in my closet since then so I figured I should sell it. Not interested in any...- hsg120
