Thoughts on a bunch of DACs (and why delta-sigma kinda sucks, just to get you to think about stuff)
Thank you for sharing this. It was an interesting read, and made me discover some very good recordings from this list: http://www.digido.com/media/honor-roll.html- hipnick

Thanks for sharing this. There is also a dash before. Like this: For me it uses whatever I set in the Default Format in the advanced tab of the playback device properties.- hipnick

Brand Spanking New A&K AK120II and AK100II
Ok, thanks for the feedback. No, I did not. I tried, yes it really does. Gotta be careful not to double-EQ. It does work, but only when the screen is on. I think they were confused here. In my opinion, this is a UI design error. In DAC mode I don't need such a locking mechanism as my...- hipnick

Companies that take advantage of audio enthusiasts
Thanks for the suggestion. I also like a company that listens. Speaking of which Fiio X1 has cue sheet support. It is not a feature like native DSD that I have to pay premium for, in my opinion. Now that I have the Hugo, I am considering going for a cheaper DAP with digital out.- hipnick

I have the lock already off, so in normal playback the volume knob works when the screen is off, but when using as a dac, I have to turn the screen on to use the volume knob.- hipnick

Thanks tumburu for this information. I find it very interesting. It is quite normal to find this hard to believe. The needs of a music producer is different from a music listener. For most having a neutral sound and good tonal balance is enough. But if you are mixing, you need a flat...- hipnick

I can say that cue sheets are not supported on my AK100II. I am actually very disappointed about this. It also scans automatically when you insert a new microSD card, which takes quite a lot of time and is completely unnecessary for me. And finally, play through folder feature on the...- hipnick

I own an AK100II, the frustrating thing about the product is that it gives you the impression that it was made for someone who is just shuffling through a bunch of mp3's and bought it for the looks, I don't feel like it is for a serious music listener. no cue sheet support, come on!- hipnick

Thanks, I certainly hope so. Actually if I could remember to take them off and give my ear canal a rest every now and then, it is all fine. But I get too carried away sometimes If I can get a perfect fit... Maybe I will try my luck with the next year's edition (Sally?)- hipnick
