I'm on the same boat at the moment. Looking for a sub 1k amp for the LCD 2 $700-900 is pretty much my budget. Anything out there that fits the bill?

I agree with the above post. I came from speakers and the experience is totally incomparable. Headphones is for listening and hearing the small details. With speakers one can feel the music for instance drums.

I find that sound is greatly improved after getting rid of the stock China tubes and throwing in a pair of Raytheon 6AK5.

Any update on this amp after prolong burn in?  Any difference?  This is THE amp that is high on my list to pull the trigger on for my LCD-2.   Thanks, -J

I definitely need to get these pads.  My ears gets real hot.  It is a shame that such quality sounds cannot be enjoyed for longer duration.  Hopefully this will 'fix' the shortcoming.   -J

New to Head-Fi and a recent owner of a LCD-2.  Hope to drop by and see what's all the fuss is about.

I recently acquired the Audeze LCD-2 and brought the HifiMan EF2A with Raytheon 6AK5 Tube.  Honestly, I believe the stock iPod Video 5th standard output is better.  However, the EF2A did provide more power and louder output.

Went from Dr. Dre Beats to ---> Audeze LCD-2.  Amazing!!!   -J
