TURNTABLE SETUP Questions thread - don't start a new thread, ASK YOUR QUESTION HERE!

Just curious, why would one want to output the line level to a soundcard rather than utilize the already built-in USB?  Better A/D conversion at the soundcard? I can understand if you had a sweet external preamp that you might want to digitize that signal, but it seems like going line-level...

foolsgold1986:  You are correct, what you need is a USB A-B (male/male) cable, as indicated in your link.   As your turntable has a built-in phono preamp and an internal A/D converter, you will get a digital signal from the TT to your computer.  I assume the TT comes with some software and...

Voices sound more left of center on seemingly every track I listen to.

Quote:   +1, and AFAIK many engineers will mix the vocal slightly off center to tame peaks and limit compression needs.  It's quite hard to get the snare and vocal to live peacefully in the same space (dead center), so these are often mixed off center and away from each other.  It is much...

Thanks for your impressions Clayton SF.   The RCA 5u4g has been my favorite in the ZP3 also, and actually neck and neck with a Tung-Sol 5y3wgt.  This got me wanting to try another Bendix 6106 in the ZP3 as it is my current favorite in the CSP+.
