Apologies for bringing this up again. Are there any decent third party Play Store equalizer apps, that can be left running in the background and work with Amazon Music HD? I basically want to set up the equalizer settings, then only have to open Amazon Music HD and start streaming music.

I'm ok with 24 Bit 44.1kHz, but the ability to use the HiBy equalizer with music streaming apps would be most welcome. HiBy, hint hint :o2smile:

Yee-haw, problem solved. Applied the Sony volume hack and now I have much more volume headroom. Volume level stays at the last set position when the device is turned off too, instead of starting at level 50 each time. Might be just me, but the music has opened up a little too. Sorry Cowon...

I only use the Sony's Media Centre because it works perfectly with my NW-A45. Haven't had any problem so far with it finding album covers. It just seemed like the logical software to use with Sony products. I notice the difference between FLAC and 192kbps coding, but the Sony WH-1000XM2's are...

I rip my CDs to FLAC using Sony's Music Centre for PC. So far I have 50 albums taking up around 18GB.

Dunno about the Fiio A3, but I used to use a Fiio X3 mk1 with the M40x's and that player had oodles of power for a rich satisfying sound. I loved that combo, but had to go wireless, due to me nearly yanking my head off every time I caught the cable.

Is anyone using a Samsung or Sandisk 256GB Micro SD card in their NW-A40 series? Sony's website mentions they can use up to 2TB. Just need to know if these big memory cards work ok, before spending my hard earned cash on one.

I might be totally wrong, but isn't that a pin hole reset button next to the SD card?
