The 2nd gen iBuds are ridiculously comfortable. But SQ may not be enough for you.

I think the problem you'll run into is, although you may find a site that has more active discussion on portable players, they won't be geared towards getting good sound specifically like this board.

My setup (below) on low gain drives my 501 to very high volumes with most songs at 9 o'clock. Looks like you need a new source.

Mine came in about a week. 4 weeks seems way too long. I'd contact them.

There's the Zhalou. Or the Beresford TC-7510. Or you could pick up a 205.2. I personally love my 203.2.

If you want to amp your K701s from your mac, you also need to get a DAC, otherwise you'll be amping a noisy headphone out signal, defeating the point. I think the G5 headphone out sounds quite good and they are more than capable of driving the K701s. Unless you need the last 10% or so of...
