The Hyland Headphones Saturn One, Saturn Two and Jupiter One thread
I notice the cable has one red connector, one black connector. The convention is usually red for right, whatever's left is.....left.- hasmac

Do I need to sand rhodium plating
It's not always necessary. It depends how hot your iron can get, rhodium is a bit harder to solder to, it needs a higher temperature and the solder won't wick as far so needs holding at temperature longer. But if the iron can't go high enough then it'll just blob and not flow.- hasmac

Hyland headphones
They're so light there's little weight on the head and a lot of the support comes from the large pads, so the headband isn't really noticeable.- hasmac

Even if this particular headphone is 'the other way' it doesn't matter, so long as you do the same on both drivers, then they'll both be in phase. Solder the wires to the outer tabs only, the inner tabs are for the coil...- hasmac

BeyerDynamic owners unite...
The seal is important, I never got a good seal with the stock Beyer pads either. I use 70x80mm on-ear pads mounted via DIY 3D printed pad plates ( https://www.tinkercad.com/things/fyQmuWijsKW ). I use them a lot, maybe 3rd most used after the T70 and 770. They match the T70 for overall sound...- hasmac

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
Beyer was the first thing I thought when I saw the diaphragm. Looks and feels well made. I'd stripped it down to check for hairs on the diaphragm, found two stuck under the outer rim, a bit of a trap for them. Very thick damping wad between the driver and the rear, open via holes in the back...- hasmac

Show us your vintage headphones!
Audio Technica ATH-6D Liked the looks, good bass, not so much detail, opposite of the Sony DR-Z6.- hasmac
