Fun headphones for EDM/electronic + M/MU2 stack (£400~)
Thanks for clearing that up cel4145, and thanks for your replies guys/gals. I've done a lot of research on your suggestions and came up with the following conclusions: HE-400i - These seem like an excellent suggestion to me, fast, punchy, kinda neutral with maybe a slight emphasis on bass...- hadouken

Fun headphones for EDM/electronic + M/MU2 stack (£400~)
Thanks cel4145, could you comment on the 400 vs the 400i? I'm reading that the 400 is a little too bright and would probably be sibilant with the M/M2U stack, which itself, is a little on the bright (bordering neutral) side, speaking from personal experience. I ask because I'm a little...- hadouken

Fun headphones for EDM/electronic + M/MU2 stack (£400~)
Wow, thank you for so many fantastic replies! Isolation is probably the least important thing I care about, so open headphones are most definitely OK. I've been reading a lot into the HD600s and from what I'm reading, there may be a chance that they'll be a little too relaxed for my...- hadouken

Fun headphones for EDM/electronic + M/MU2 stack (£400~)
Hi all! After a long Head-Fi hiatus, I thought I'd knock my audio setup up a notch and purchase a Schiit Audio Modi / Magni 2 Uber combo to replace my ageing ASUS Xonar STX. So far, I'm *really* enjoying the improvement they've brought about. I'm currently using a pair of Ultrasone PRO 900s...- hadouken

£400+ budget, looking for a good pair of cans
Your friend sounds like some kind of super genius, I would listen to everything he says and follow his words as if uttered by the mouth of God... Also, give him £100 for being so awesome.- hadouken

Are the dt 990's still a good buy?
Hey mate, I own a set of Beyerdynamic DT 990's (250 ohm, not sure how similar to the 600 ohm they are) and loved them, used them until they eventually broke on me. Definitely worth the money. As you can see by my sig, I mostly listen to EDM so our tastes aren't too dis-similar. ...- hadouken

speakers sound better then headphones regardless of price
Most speakers below the £50 price mark sound garbage to me, a reasonably priced 2.1 speaker set however, you may just be right. I listened to a set of £700 5.1 Cambridge Audio Minx speakers recently, they sounded great for movies and TV shows but awful for music, my PRO 900's sound so much...- hadouken

What Songs do you listen to testing the Bass thump/extention?
Never heard this tune before, sounds pants-wettingly good on my PRO 900's, time to go check out Spor and Chasing Shadows. Thanks for the heads up!- hadouken

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
Quote: Pretty much what I thought when I first got them. After around 100 hours of usage though, things have definitely improved. So far, the treble has calmed down, it's lost most of its harsh "metallic" sound, although certain vocals and high pitched sounds split my ears a...- hadouken

What Songs do you listen to testing the Bass thump/extention?
Two of my favourite tracks for testing bass: Skrillex - Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites (Original Mix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSeNSzJ2-Jw Paul Keeley - A Sort Of Homecoming (Jaytech Saturday Mix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8k5u6fnDtU- hadouken

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
Quote: Well, I took the left pad and put it on the right, like-wise for the other. Whether it was the act of reversing the pads that fixed it or just re-seating them as "DJ LP" said to do, I don't know. If you have the same problem as me, just mess with your pads a bit, chances are...- hadouken

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
Quote: Spot on. ;) When I first unboxed them I messed around with the pads and I think I reversed them, after swapping them back around everything sounds perfect. I'm not sure whether it was the reversing the pads or the re-seating that helped but obviously the pads make a...- hadouken

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
That was my first thought, I've owned Ultrasones before and I know from experience how warped they can sound if the jack isn't in correctly. I've tried multiple times to insert them as far as they can go and twist until they absolutely will not twist further. It just sounds like the bass...- hadouken

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
Hi everyone, I purchased a pair of these and received them a couple of days ago, while the sound from them has been *AMAZING*, especially for electronic genres (which constitute 80-90% of my listening time), it feels like most of the bass is coming out of the left speaker and it's starting...- hadouken
