Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS
It seems like this may be the answer for android: http://www.head-fi.org/t/685414/preview-fiio-e18-kunlun-surprise-surprise I think I'm just going to get an iBasso DX50 rather than a DAC and see how it goes from there.- Groog

IBasso DX50 vs Fiio X3 comparison thread
I had looked into these two DAPs and was coming to a decision on which to get until I read this thread! Has anyone tried them with a pair of HD25s (my primary out and about headphones)? Their 70 Ohm impedance hasn't been covered by anyone yet.- Groog

Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS
Sounds like the DAC is too power hungry for the phones. I know you can get OTG cables with power connections for these sort of issues. Does anyone know if a battery powered USB OTG cable/hub exists?- Groog

Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS
I'm interested in this DAC... if it works with an Android phone. Has anyone tried this yet, I can't find any evidence either way at the moment.- Groog

Help me pick a new Toy?
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try and find somewhere to listen to the Denons and Shures I think. Easier said than done in Scotland though... No one has suggested getting a DAC. I can understand that it won't be as "fun" as a new set of headphones, but will it improve my set up? I'm...- Groog

Help me pick a new Toy?
I must have been too wordy... Would a Little Dot DAC_I or a pair of HD600/650s be more fun/better?!- Groog

Help me pick a new Toy?
Wasn't sure which forum to put this in so I've stuck it here for now. I'm looking to buy a new headphone related toy. I'm (probably) looking for either a DAC or a new set of headphones (HD600/650 perhaps?). I figured I would ask the community what they think would be a good...- Groog

Looking for portable circumaural headphones?
I'm looking to upgrade my portable listening experience and am having trouble deciding what headphone to get. Features I'm after: Circumaural (I feel like on-ear headphones are going to fall off all the time) Able to be driven by my phone (Nexus S) or mp3 player (Sansa Clip+), i.e...- Groog

Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS
Well I managed to find and buy the SU-DH1. Needed the DTS capability for movies which are amazing now! The soundstage has exploded in size! However, I can clearly hear a hum on the SU-DH1 at higher volumes which is thanks to noise coming from the DC adaptor (I tried it with batteries and...- Groog

Out of interest, can you tell me the actual spec for the power supply?- Groog

Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS
Haven't checked this for a while! Thanks for the replies. I reckon the SU-DH1 is what I want, I don't need the minor amplification of the DSS (have a little dot mk III) and I definitely DO want DTS! What are the specs for the power adaptor? Surely I can get something suitable from...- Groog

Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS
Apologies for double post. Have now been looking at the SU-DH1 and think it may be more what I'm looking for. Gaming isn't my main reason for buying a surround sound processor. I already have a good headphone amp and so I purely need the surround processing. My only question about...- Groog

Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS
Thanks for the info, I'm a bit more intrigued by the mixamp now. Having googled reviews of the DSS a lot of people seem to be disappointed in its surround sound capabilities, but I think they just don't like dolby headphone. Couple of questions: 1) Is the mixamp powered by usb, or...- Groog

Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but..... I am basically wondering if anyone has this and what it's like. I've had a quick search on the forums but haven't found any recent posts. It fills my criteria in that it takes optical input and converts to a headphone socket whilst...- Groog
