    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

I have scratches on the right swivel from transporting. (Not sure if it is called swivel, but the one on the right is where the jack goes in...) The swivels overlap in the bag and somewhere there must be something sharp...   Does anyone have the same problem? And if so, also a solution?

Quote:   I do, when I'm at work. My ears do get warm, but I only notice when I take them off. The headband needs some replacing on the top of my head every now and then, but I'm not really used to wearing full-size cans all the time, though. I use to wear the HD201 and they are not nearly...

Where do you get your music?

I mostly listen to the iTunes podcast of "3voor12 Draait". They have a nice mix of new music. The amount of talk in between isn't much, but it's Dutch though.

Quote:   Much appreciated! I'm still debating whether or not I should give an amp a try. Maybe I'll need to find someone with an amp, to give it a try.

Quote:   In what way do you prefer the unamped sound? How would you describe the difference?   I'm interested, because I was wondering what an amp would do for these cans. I use an iPod Nano 6G and the volume doesn't often pass 50% so for sake of output, it doesn't look like an amp is...

I noticed I have some small chips/scratches already  When the cans are flat in the bag, the cups are seperated by a bumper. This bumper doesn't prevent one cup from sliding in/under the other. The open structure of the end where the jack enters must be sharp enough to cause these scratches...

By the way, I'm using these cans in combination with a iPod Nano 6th Gen. and 50% volume is loud enough for me most of the times. I just tried 100% volume and that's too loud for me to listen to for a prolonged time. I would say that they're pretty easy to drive.

Quote: I picked these up instead of having them mailed. I must say, I was a little sceptical to pick up a pair for even less than half the regular price. They were still sealed!

I'm stilling bidding on other MDR-1Rs. If I manage to get a couple more, I'm thinking to put them up for sale here.   So far, I'm really enjoying these cans! The comfort around the ears is just phenomenal! I must have a sensitive scalp though, because I do feel the headband. (Maybe left over...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

After scouring the local version of eBay in The Netherlands (Marktplaats) for a replacement of my trusted HD201 I came across the AKG K 167. Reading reviews on them I came across a thread mentioning the MDR-1R and that those cans where free with a Sony Xpreria Z and were flooding on "eBay". I...
