Oppo Sonica DAC (an affordable ES9038PRO Sabre DAC)

It does, they have even published the IR codes. http://download.oppodigital.com/sonica-dac/Sonica%20DAC%20NEC%20&%20Pronto%20Hex%20Remote%20Codes.xlsx Logitech also added the SDAC to their Harmony remote database last week.

    Noise from 0404 USB.

Didn't think of potential ground issues. Can try the whole rig on a different circuit, thanks!

    Noise from 0404 USB.

Rogue Cronus integrated as headphone amp?

I tried it for a couple of hours with the HD650s last week. It's decent, but a lacks some detail especially in the highs, and I recall it sounded a bit too flat overall. Source was a Linn SACD-player. I would not use it as a dedicated headphone amp, even the Woo3 sounds better imho.

WHEN and HOW do you use your different cans?

At home: Grado RS1 for rock, metal etc. Beyer DT990 for jazz and classical. One the move: Ety ER4S. I wish I could afford to have at least a couple extra good pairs of headphones, but maybe later.
