Beats Audio Laptop.
My roommate also just bought a dv7 with Beats. Naturally I was curious, so I gave it a listen. Though not Beats (Altec Lansing, I think) the speakers are the best I have ever heard on a notebook. Obviously I would never want to listen to music from notebook speakers, but I cant count how many...- Gilmai

Greatest Guitarists...according to Rolling Stone
Disappointed that Phil Keaggy wasn't mentioned on the list or in this thread. One of my favorites. -
Cheap portable USB DAC, for netbook
I often use a y1 with my netbook and I love it. I don't have too much to compare it with SQ wise, but it's certainly an improvement over the netbook's headphone jack. I think the hammond cases are pretty rugged. Like I said I tote mine around frequently. You can make it yourself if you like diy...- Gilmai

Audioengine 2, not what I expected.
I really enjoy my A2s. However, I would apply all the aforementioned caveats. They are definitely great only for there size and price; larger, more expensive speakers will obviously sound better. If cost and footprint were no object, I would have bought the A5 which are substantially better. I...- Gilmai

Audioengine 2/5 with nicer/cheaper DAC
I run my A2s through a y1 and it makes a very noticeable difference. I don't own the A5 but I have heard them and imo the dac makes a bigger difference unless you need the extra volume (which for near field you shouldn't). However, as happy as I am with my A2s I still wish I had the A5s, so...- Gilmai

SAN DIEGO Meet, April 23
Count me in. Not much in the way of gear, though: y1, mini3, dt770-80, Terminator V4, M^3 in progress. But by April, who knows.- Gilmai

Cable Truths and Myths.
I thought the article was an interesting read, but my issue with it is along the lines of what Currawong alluded to. It is hard for me to appreciate the presented data as proof because I have verified neither the data nor the principals of science applied to obtain it. I must take both on faith...- Gilmai
