NEW! SENDY AUDIO AIVA Impressions?
Hi, Thanks for your comment re the T1. I wondered what you meant by '....without the bloat'. Because IMO you can say a lot of things about the T1, but not that it's bloated. But maybe I misread your comment. Thx!- gb21011971

Neumann NDH 20
Hi Wertigo, First I have to say I find this headphone much more difficult to assess than others, to me its sound is sometimes great, sometimes weird, I still have not made up my mind completely. As for its neutrality and/or bass heaviness: Of course I could be the odd user out there and I have...- gb21011971

Cable. Frustrated and not having been able to find a shorter 3rd party cable, I took matters into my own hands. Shortened the original cable down to around 1.2m and terminated it with a 3.5mm connector. Done.- gb21011971

Neumann NDH 20
Maybe a surprising answer, but I would NOT recommend these for EDM. Their bass is great, but tonally speaking much too prominent, even with other genres. When playing bass heavy music like electronic music through them, bass becomes total overkill. At least for me. If you're fine with EQing and...- gb21011971

Neumann NDH 20
Anyone any news around (shorter) replacement cables? I know there were some posts earlier, but those were all for cables on Amazon in the US. Tried to find the equivalents on European Amazon sites, without success. I am getting so frustrated with the long straight cable (I use the NDH 20 kind...- gb21011971

Yes. Dekoni Elite Hybrid pads made for THX00. They are a bit larger, but in spite of the somewhat loose fit, they work on the NDH20. Sound-wise, the bass drops considerably. I think the bass with the original pads is too strong, but with the Dekoni's, it gets too weak. Overall a rather thin...- gb21011971

Neumann NDH 20
By the way, does anyone have experience with aftermarket cables for this? Z says that the Sennheiser 598 etc cables don't fit unless you sand down the connector. Really need a portable cable, both included cables are anything but suited for portable.- gb21011971

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Couldn't have described them better. The only thing I would add, is the great soundstage. Not as wide as HD800's, but very wide compared to most other headphones. And not only wide, but high. I have never heard other headphones that have such a tall soundstage. Very 3 dimensional.- gb21011971

Impressions after a week or two with the Neumann's: Weird headphones. Not sure if I love them or hate them. First thought after about 10 seconds of listening: They sell these as neutral monitors? They are NOT neutral AT ALL. Very boosted bass and rolled off trebles. But after 2 weeks, I have to...- gb21011971

Focal Clear headphones
Everything is in the ear of the beholder. Everyone hears differently and has different taste. Maybe some things like resolution or decay are a bit more objective, but too much / too few mids/highs/bass is largely a matter of taste and hearing. I know many people like the Clear for its mids, but...- gb21011971

Focal Clear headphones
The bass of the Arya and the Clear are different. Difficult to say objectively, which one is better. It's a matter of taste probably. I think both have a technically good bass, i.e. very clean, fast decay, resolving and not bleeding into mids. The difference is that the Clear's emphasis more on...- gb21011971
