I have a pair of JH16's in the queue.  They received my impressions on Jan 21.  I called Shelley earlier this week for a status update...she told me it would be first week in March.  So it appears the current wait time is +/- 7 weeks.

If you're looking for ultraportable, iPod Nano > RSA Shadow > JH16.  If brick-portable, I would go with iPod Classic > CLAS > SR-71B > JH16. 

I'm also assembling a rig for extreme portability.  I've ordered JH-16 customs.  I have a relatively new iPod nano that I'll use, and will probably add RSA Shadow as I have two other Ray Samuels amps and really like them. 

I run and ride in UE customs.  For me, definitely the best solution.  They don't move around in the ear and the seal keeps the sweat out.  Only downside is noise isolation, so you must be more alert to traffic or other dangers.

I've had Edition 8's for about 6 months and have really enjoyed them.  Lately however, I find myself reaching for my IEM's more often (UE 10 Customs).  For this reason, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on some new JH16 IEM's...go figure.

I'm partial to Ray Samuels Audio amps.  I've got a Tomahawk and an SR-71B and love them both.  There are plenty of reviews for Ray Samuels products on this site...I would definitely put them on your short list.
