Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.

Well, I got my MEST MK2 a week ago direct from UM. I ordered mine with the custom raised QDC connector versus the flush 2-pin connector that comes with the standard MK2. No more risk of bent pins. I'm treble sensitive. I knew this going in and even made some posts here asking about the...

Compact Bluetooth + Wired DAC that's as good as a Dragonfly Red?

Do you have the DragonFly Red to compare? I've always felt that the DragonFly Red was also a marked improvement over the ES100. The only reason I use the ES100 is because it's the only way I can go wirelessly with what I have.

Compact Bluetooth + Wired DAC that's as good as a Dragonfly Red?

I would like to hear from DragonFly Red owners. I want a new DAC that's capable of: - Bluetooth via LDAC - Wired over USB-C - 2.5mm and 3.5mm plugs - Compact for mobile use with IEMs I really like the sound quality from my DragonFly Red. I've tried various other dongles and the ES100 but I...

Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.

I ordered the MEST MKII directly from Unique Melody in China and was adamant with them that I did not want the flush two-pin socket as numerous people with similar sockets on other IEMs (and my own experiences) have told me they get bent pins on the cable and expanded pin holes on the shell...

What exactly is supposed to happen when you use a cable with reversed polarity, or if you mix up polarity? So for example, say that: --- Scenario 1: Normally the IEM has the negative pin on the same side as the back of the head on both the right and left side. You use a cable that has the...

Here's the deal with the cable polarity. Based on the photo above, the polarity of the MEST should be thus (the positive is the same side as the back of your head): The MEST uses an extruded oval 0.78mm connector on the IEM that is similar to QDC, but QDC has reversed polarity (the negative...

Uh, no. Link to an aftermarket cable, please. Chances are you'll be wrong because at the very least the sleeve won't fit. What other 2-pin "standard polarity" cable has an oval sleeve that can take the raised oval pin housing on the MEST MK1?

I don't know what "standard polarity" means. Can you link an aftermarket cable that would work?

Does anyone who owns the MEST MK 1 use any *elbow adapters* to convert to MMCX? It appears the MEST MK 1 uses a non-standard connector. It's a raised two-pin connector that looks like QDC, but it (I think) has a reversed polarity to QDC. I'd rather just have all my cables use standard plugs...

Hmmm... on the MEST Mk 2 I noticed that the cable sockets are 0.78mm two-pin types, but it's completely flush with the body. There is no channel for a sleeve or a raised bit for a sleeved cable to go over, unlike the original MEST. This means that all mechanical stresses are placed on just...
