Recently got a MacBook Air M1. What are everyone's thoughts on the 3.5mm audio port? Can't find any information on the internal DAC. Is it worth getting an external DAC?

Dragonfly Black works fine for me with USB-C to USB adapter. Maybe yours is faulty...

Tidal works fine offline. Works online for me too as long as you use wired headphones.

Have you checked there is no pocket fluff in your iPhone’s lightning socket? Try picking it out with a cocktail stick or similar....

Bit the bullet and did the firmware update. Happy to say all ok. Didn’t effect Tidal. A toggle of Bluetooth on/off and the Sony headphones app is ok too. :dt880smile:

On my iPhone the codec stays AAC if the EQ is used. It does not stay on LDAC on my DAP. So I use the DAP’s EQ.

Has anyone who already had the latest Tidal app and Sony headphones app side loaded from a third party updated to the new firmware? Did you have any problems or all good?

Hi gLer. Have you updated to the latest firmware? Did tidal still work properly afterward?

I had previously sideloaded Tidal with MQA support from a third party. Same with the Sony headphones app. Anyone else done that and avoided problems following update? Scared to mess those apps up!

Stupid question- will factory reset and clearing data from Tidal result in losing my EQ settings and Tidal downloads? Really don’t want that to happen!

So are there any actual benefits of the new firmware? Don’t want to lose my Tidal downloads or break the Sony app!
