What a lot of people including myself has been to use Neutrik Right Angle Jacks and not use the sleeve. You glue together the two halves. http://www.redco.com/Neutrik-NTP3RC-B.html- FrozenPanda

That is one gorgeous connector! I would probably recommend trying their new 3.5GT1 http://www.norneaudio.com/litzheim/Norne-Audio-Beyerdynamic-T1-Gen-2-Eidolic-3-5mm-diy-connector Seems like that has the longest shank. ;)- FrozenPanda

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
OH man that looks great. Is the new jack much shinier than the older ones? And also, how was working with the Pistons? Did you crack them open and solder directly onto the driver or did you just cut the cable and solder wire to wire?- FrozenPanda

ATH-M50 Removable Cable Mod
Yeah you definitely can't pull the out if its any decent length of a cable. You're going to want to take a knife and run it down the length of the cable just deep enough to cut the rubber.- FrozenPanda

ATH-M50 Removable Cable Mod

Beyerdynamic DT990 replacement drivers
They just replied to the email I sent to their support. Their price for the drivers are: Part Number: 952283 – DT990 250 Ohm Driver - $56.28 each, plus $15.00 standard UPS shipping and handling. If I get only one driver will there be a difference in sound? My pair is well over 10...- FrozenPanda

Beyerdynamic DT990 removeable cable mod
yeah, this is a bit of a pickle.. How much would a pair of broken 770's or 880's run me? I don't see a pair anywhere on ebay but maybe i'm not looking correctly.. Which phones have the same drivers as the 990's 250 ohm? I would need one which is also 250 ohm right?- FrozenPanda
